AQM Suspended for the 2014 season

When I was in school, the students comprised the adjudicative body in these matters. If that's still the case, then you guys should be *****ing about the f*cking dorks who sent AQM to Rutgers.

This is where a FAT CAT booster needs to step up and help AQM support his family in Miami with a good, easy high paying job. I would assume this would be legal since he is no longer a member of the team or under NCAA regulations.

Of course not. There are reports he already left school and it is easy to see him transfer to a place where they care about football.

Im not happy about the situation, but some of you guys whine like little girls. I wish AQM would punch yall in the face.

Golden does what he can to preserve the kids eligibility (possible redshirt) and gets crucified here for it. Business as usual for the lynch mob.

Do you know without a doubt that Golden went balls to the wall for AQM? If that is true, he doesn't have any clout with this admin then. Which is really sad. Other kids will mess up and is this how they will be treated.

This program is done. The glory days will never return, and that's just the way the admin likes it.

Broken nose, no broken nose, AQM’s kid involved etc…no body on this board knows the facts. All of you are upset because UM won’t let AQM play football but you are in a position to make that judgement. In order to adjudicate a situation you have to know what transpired and the only thing that is a fact here is that in matters like this the institution in question (UM in this case) can’t say ANYTHING. This allows rumors to fill the void.

Don’t scholarship athletes have to sign a contract when they come to a school that include behavior clauses? I have to believe included in these agreements are things like fighting, drugs, stealing etc. If you get a full ride to a major D1 university to play football there are rules you have to follow and if you break those rules (again, WE DON’T KNOW ANY FACTS IF HE DID OR DIDN’T) there are consequences.

Bama, LSU and FSU would cover this type of thing up you say? That doesn’t make it right. It sure doesn’t make it right for the girl Winston allegedly raped and it wouldn’t be right for the guy who got his face plowed if that is what happened.

I want to see UM win as much of any of you. I fly 3000 miles to go to games with my kid (a UM student) and marvel at the empty seats. The U that Billy Corben documented so well isn’t coming back in the days of twitter, facebook, cell phone and elevator cameras. The U has to find smart kids, good coaches who want to work hard. That‘s how you are going to win, on the field and off.

The only fact i know is that it wasn't serious enough for an arrest. That should be the end of the story right there.

but he broke the code of conduct. he should be treated like a normal student and he has been. the witnesses they interviewed gave conflicting reports about whether it was self defense or not and he now has to deal w the consequences. it is what it is.

We can't win on, or off the field. I am glad we can put you on that side of the Golden fence!

Suspended a whole semester for a ****ing fight?

This wouldn't happen at a school that gave a **** about its football program.

you sound like a Ray Rice fan.. it's all about the football and forget being responsible for your own actions

You sound like a douche.

This is the only case I've ever heard of where a kid with no priors is suspended an entire year for a fight.

an entire year? its a semester. **** miss the football season but thats the consequences. break the rules, deal w the punishment. thats life. he's not expelled from the school and he's welcome back to the team and school in the spring. it sucks he's not going to be playing this fall but if he comes back to UM, he still has 3 years left and he can make it up next year.

It's a semester, not a year. A semester is a term used in colleges and universities to describe a period of time for a set of classes.

1. An Administration that couldn't care less if our team is ****.
2. A coaching staff that excels at making our team play like ****
3. We are in for a world of ****.
4. This staff and admin have succeeded in me loathing this program.

Can we stop with the "football players need to be treated like regular students" bull****? No they shouldn't, and at every other major (successful) program but here, they aren't.

No one had any problem with kicking out sickos like Figueora, but something as petty as this? An event that would get you a quarter suspension anywhere else? We are ******* doomed.

they are students and they should be treated as such. he wasn't kicked out of school permanently. he was suspended for a semester. he's welcome back to school unlike figs. he can come back in the spring and make up the time lost with his 3 years of eligibility remaining. also, he has a full ride to a school while other kids pay a ton to attend. if it wasnt self defense then he should be punished for his actions. if u follow the student code of conduct, assault could lead to removal from the university permanently.

ND kicked its best player out for a year for cheating. It happens when code of conduct matters arise.

also didnt BYU lose one of their best players on the basketball team bc he violated the student code of conduct, as well? (this happened a couple years ago tho)
