We got our 4th commit for Class of 2023 from a NR guy who played one year of football..

Our class was really just Tripp and Tinilau around this time last year. Washington brothers committed out of nowhere with some drama and a lot of people were saying they would not stick. Seymore was on our commit list but not on the coach's list.

Both years at this time we had 2 non FL commits. 1 top player at a non-**** position and another developmental project. Last year we followed that up with 2 3* TEs and 1 unknown QB in June before everything blew up after the Rashada commitment. Wait until the summer for the real fireworks.

and they were seconds away from decommiting. I saw their decommitment edits. Luckily staff caught wind of it in the nick of time.

I hope you're right, but I have an awful feeling that it will be closer to 5 going into the season. Mario destroyed his reputation last year as facilitating anything close to a modern, competent offense, and in addition to starting relationships with recruits from ground zero with a new offensive coordinator we're now having to do the same with a new defensive coordinator.

I also remember that there were rumblings that while the 2023 class was going to be good, the 2024 class was going to be shaky. And that was before the wheels completely fell off the 2023 season.

The wheels fell off and he ended up with with the #7 class. Why are you sweating the 24 class before the 23 season has started?

Last season has me spooked from a recruiting standpoint. Not that we finished #7, but that it may have shattered relationships with kids who were a year behind.

We are a month earlier than last year at this point. A lot of similarities... We had 8 commits on 6/22 last year ranked #29th with:
one 4* local WR (R. Washington -> C. Robinson)​
one 3* QB (E. Williams -> J. Anderson)​
one 3* local LB (B. Washington -> V. Shavers)​
one out of state 3* OL (A. Tripp -> J. Minaya)​
one international 3* FL recruit (F. Tinilau -> I. Thomas)​
one 3* FL recruit (L. Seymore -> C. Wheatley-Hunphrey)​
two 3* out of state recruits (J. Carver, R. Mikeska) -> (D. Day, A. Murray)​

June and July should be 🔥

It's really not worth worrying about until mid July at the earliest, unless our top targets all start committing elsewhere. I said as much last year, and feel the same this year. Mario knows how to recruit.
