I know people are down on Major, but the stuff in this game is (sadly) leaps and bounds above anything we’ve seen.

Motion, multiple formations, shifts, tempo, setting up player (Jesse Palmer talks about it in the broadcast).

All of this with a converted WR at QB and a **** o-line.

I'll never forget watching them tear FSU a new one. People will be VERY happy with results. This is the best OC hire I ever remember us making. I wanted Briles, but this is just as good.

I can't wait to get into this when I have time. It's exciting stuff and if it is indeed Applewhite at OC I'm really really happy (scheme-wise.)

Should beat the thread you made when Richt was hired. I remember the premise being that there wasn’t too many bells and whistles and a shallow cross concept that was figured out a decade ago

LOL I'll take that L. In fairness, I don't think I saw a single shallow cross concept during Richt's entire tenure here.

Is he good at recruiting? I'm not looking to *****, I'm honestly curious

Manny may just have fallen into Blake's lap but that Mark Richt hire never had any chance of working. After his year 2 bump in recruiting, it was all downhill from there. He was clearly totally burnt out and lost midway through this past season. Some of the looks he had on the sideline during hte 4 game losing streak were just sad. Thank god he is a good man and retired as opposed to putting us through the torture of what would have been the 2019 season.

Bobby Bowden once said that coaches known as good recruiters were often not good coaches, so they HAD to be good at recruiting. Give me good coaches and the players will come.

I see this argument but you gotta have guys who can make relationships with the players and kids especially when we try to recruit nationally. Maybe that's the support staff's job but it's my opinion that the coaches also need to be recruiters.

Here's my issue with "recruiters" over coaches. You can get all 4-5 stars, but if you can't coach them up and can't create mismatches with that talent, you will lose to far less talented teams. Sound familiar? We have lost so many games over the last 15 years to teams far less talented than us, due to pathetic coaching. Give me great coaching all day.

He’s coached in Texas for awhile so maybe he can bring a Texas QB. That or create a pipeline.
