App State please!!

Dude, that school was a hippie school. I graduated in 1996. Full on SJW training program now.

I grew up in S. Fl. The "hicks" in WNC are no different from the hicks in FL. And that gal who claimed she was touched had nothing to do with the football program. Her claims are a direct result of said SJW environment prevalent on that campus now. Like it or not, that is the case.

You do you though.

Back on topic: Searles has the chops to be a candidate but he's stuck with Oline coaching pretty much his entire career. I don't think that will be a plus when compared to the rest of the candidates on that list. They all have coached multiple positions/units. They just look better on paper than Searles. Crazier things have happened but I think he's staying at UM.

IMO, I think it is best. UM has already lost out on a couple of good prospects. Losing an experienced oline coach won't help (regardless of your opinion of him and his results). The recruiting class as it stands today is already in trouble.

So, we should keep Searles just because he's experienced? Even though we see clear as day that the on-field product and recruiting are not going anywhere. Al Golden's an experienced HC, do you think we should go and bring him back?

No, because finding a suitable replacement right before early signing day wouldn't help this class retain nor attract prospects. If he moves on after the last signing period, so be it. If he takes the job at ASU, so be it. It still won't help with signing recruits without a great hire. Regardless of our opinion of Searles, he is still a very experienced coach. That does count for something with recruits and parents.

Also, signing day hasn't passed yet. UM is still in it for some top linemen. I'll withhold judgement till then. And I also hold the players accountable as well as the coaches. They're the ones getting blow up, missing assignments, etc.

I never said the Hicks in WNC are any different from the hicks in fl. That area is filled with hillbillies. I have watched numerous App state games and every time they pan over the crowd all you see is a wave of overalls and missing teeth.

That said Searles SUCKS as an OL coach. Experience means nothing when it is bad experience. Obviously I don't expect some young guy to come in and save the recruiting class, but we are better off stopping the bleeding now and getting rid of his ***. So the new guy can start to fix the problems ASAP.

If Searles becomes their HC that will be the biggest mistake that AD has ever made. Sadly, I think he is stating at UM as well, but it is ok to wish.

Um.......It's December and we don't have one single OL commitment right now and just lost our only two to our rivals in Gainesville. So retaining or attracting with Searles is a moot point since he's doing neither. Also, evaluations are done by every other program right around this time. You can also hire his replacement immediately as recruits would then see who their position coach would be. Right now, most are assuming Searles is gone and don't know who the replacement is. UM really isn't in it for any top linemen other than Evan Neal; and by all accounts he's going to Bama.

Bobby Bowden has a home on Beech Mountain outside of Boone . Actually a lot of celebs have summer homes there. I stay in the home of a friend in Linville (about 15 miles south of Boone) on Grandfather Mountain's gated country club & golf course. No home in that area costs under 2M.
