Apologize 15-0ers and admit I was right from day 1

I'd apologize for posting 15-0 - but it was a perverse post of humor.

NFL grade coaches have won at UM, USC, UCLA, Oklahoma, and so on. You see, that's the pattern to winning.

A UF guy told me this morning - "The State of Florida isn't up to snuff - FSU can't beat a good high school team - and Miami? You have the answer right there - Butch Davis hasn't forgotten everything he ever learned, and he and Saban are the same age. Miami hired a political hire. A lazy hire. While Butch can't compete at FIU for top South Florida talent - (neither can UM) - he made his whole season by beating UM at FIU. Which should tell anyone with a pulse - he can coach!"

I pointed out that some dumbass UM fans hate Butch because he left UM - and he was familiar with UM dragging their feet when Butch thought they had a deal. He pointed out that Howard won and left for money. Jimmy left for money. Butch left for money. What's the difference?

He continued, "LSU fans just hate Saban - for leaving and going to Alabama. They should be grateful - he won LSU one National Championship, and set up the team so Les Miles could come in and win one as well - with Saban's team."

"We even have fans at UF that hate Urban Meyer for leaving UF. Good gracious - he won us a National Championship!"

"Urban would never come back to UF, and Saban would never return to LSU - but Miami could get Butch Davis. Get a good AD that understands the financial value of a winning football team, give Butch sufficient money to hire really good coordinators, tell him you're out to win - and watch it all come together."

"He can tell recruits - I've been there - done that - you come to UM, you'll be playing for a National."

I can't ague with that. Even though he IS a Gator.

I hear you it's a mixture of both. But like Kentucky getting **** and bama until Saban. Those schools got **** until those guys got there. They were a mess roster wise. The minute those guys took over they got the best of the best then everything slowly started to change. Practice became harder and by year three (not Kentucky cause one and dones) those dudes had NFL practices. Not cause of x and O's it was cause they had a different dog practicing monsters who wanted it.

That's my point. Fix the culture. We'll get our share of top kids when we can offer them something they should want.

And even for all the isht at Alabama pre-Saban, it was a lot better than UM since Coker was here. With the exception of Franchione (who stunk), iirc every Alabama coach between Bryant and Saban had a top 10 finish and won a bowl game. Stallings won a natty. (Edit - just checked - Dubose dint win no bowl game, Franchione did but dint finish top 10). Anyhow, point is they weren't total incompetents. We've done this to ourselves as a program.

So many either in denial or have no idea what they’re talking about.

When we’re good you won’t even have to deal with mope/slurper ****. It’s obvious, no interpretation.

All off season, this guy and couple others were policing threads and hitting up every poster who criticized Díaz like insecure clowns and now they practically disappeared. Happened with Coker, Randy, and Golden but not like this guy.

There’s an article in the New York Times about the University of Miami law department, how horrendously ran and how the students are lied to…. how most of the lawyers that come out of there make no more than $30,000 a year because they have $400,000 worth of school loans.

Dam you make some good points except the Lawyer part. I have a group of friends that all went to UM Law years ago and they are all making well over 6 figures. But if our school has really fallen that much is it on Franks? Was it that bad under Shalala?

If we get lucky and this up and comer is like the next urban and can recruit his *** off. That's hard to find odds are against us cause we won't know till we see the classes

That's what scares me. Is UM in a position to miss out again or do we HAVE to go for a proven coach?

This is crazy that the team planted in the middle of the most fertile recruiting in the country can't find the right coach.

I have fought some of you on the whole admin killing football but I have to admit it all seems to point at Blake ruining us.

I've been a season ticket holder for over 35 years for both Dolphins and CANES and I've never been more disappointed. (Well except when I was walking out of the OB after Vrginia took us to the woodshed.
