I expect more than 10 wins. Here is why... We have been playing with essentially two hands tied behind our backs with the coaching staff we had with coley being to predictable and callings dumb plays and donofrios dumbass passive defensive scheme. As you seen in games this year that lost us a couple of winnable games including Fsu, cincinatti and Washington state... Miami should have been 11-2 this year if not because of them. Next year we bring everyone back and more tbh pretty much as well as a talented recruiting class. Add in players like Gerald Willis, Gus Edwards, Darrion Owens Miami's a more talented team overall and has an abundance of experience on both sides of the ball.

I agree.

10 wins and it's a success and that's including the post season. There will be some carry over softness from the last five years. Hopefully Richt can get most of it out but it's hard to make such a drastic change when you have been programmed to be soft for a few years.

9 to 10 wins.

Let's be real FSU doesn't scare me this season.

I haven't checked what ND is bringing back but 9 wins is about where j see us

FSU will be much better next season. ND won't be. 10 wins should be the bar but 11 is completely doable

Reality.

Learn new coaches, learn new defense, learn new offense, remove bad habits, incorporate new sound techniques....oh...

and do it all before September...oh, and by the way...don't slip up in October...it would be a cake walk for any other staff working with kids they didn't recruit and develop. Lmfao.

Gotta love the agendas here. I guess Saban should have been ****canned after his underwhelming first year at Alabama...loser.

Give the guy a fackin chance...unless like OP, your agenda is to prove he was a terrible hire.

UM

Two things: The OP has stated in another thread that we should have hired Ken Dorsey as our HC and not Richt. So that's all we needed to price his opinion.

Secondly, having UNC and VT (with Fuente's offense) in five days is a great way to get a lot of players on defense injured. That is a brutal task not to mention VT is nuts on a Thursday night.

7/8 wins is reasonsble

Some of you guys' expectations are out of control

Well said. A sobering and realistic expectation for Y1.

Ok...now, for all the flames out there...MAKE YOUR CASE...in readable English preferably...game by game...as to why it will be greater than that.

I'd offer just due to the highly suspect OL unit, the FSU, ND, and UNC games might be more competitive, but will result in likely losses. All others I would rate as highly likely wins, likely wins, and a few toss ups (GT and VT come to mind).

Again, this is just based solely on the OL unit and my estimation that little progress (better than none I suppose) will be made in improving them until newer recruits arrive and are ready for play. It wouldn't matter if UM had Barry Sanders, Jim Brown, and Bo Jackson in the backfield. The current OL has not shown any sustained performance in moving the LoS forward and/or keeping 3rd string DLs from camping in the backfield. Until that changes, there won't be the needed balanced attack (or threat thereof) to pull Ws in the tougher and more marquee matchups.

So again, before the flames start heating up, make a case for why the Ws are greater than 7-8 in the '16 campaign.

Why is Sonny Dong still posting here?

this^

it is so clearly the same person.

I'll be upset with 8 wins or less

I'll be okay with 9 wins year 1 then an improvement in year 2

I'll be happy and pleased with 10 wins because the schedule may work out nicely

prediciton -> 10 wins. Losses will be 2 of FSU, ND, or VT. Not sure which two, but it'll be from those three teams.

You can Shut TF Up with that BS. If MR wins only 7 to 8 games in 2016, HE SHOULD BE FIRED!

Richt doesn't have any magic pixie dust to sprinkle on the team to turn them into an instant power house.

Some poster's expectations are out in fantasy land.

it will be Abundantly CLEAR that Mark Richt is up to his Complacent UGA ways! Nothing would have changed with the guy.

Our 2016 Schedule is completely winnable with Quality Coaching. Mark Richt can be Mark Richt once, and only once, during the 2016 season...but it better not be against a scrub opponent. After all, he is Mark Richt.

If Mark Richt and staff provide Quality Coaching, there is no reason why Miami can't win at least 11 regular season games!

There it is: I just endorsed MR to make me a believer. LOL

Hey, Richtketts! What are your season predictions?

P.S. Golden should have beat FSU 2 straight years, so miss me with a loss to FSU in 2016. We have MR now, right? Save the excuse. Also, save the UNC excuse too. We beat them in 2014. They beat us in 2015. We are still more talented. Plus we return a good 3rd year QB...and MR, right?

Sincerely,

5,4,3,2,1......Destruction!

**** off troll

Your standards are just super low.

The 2015 team won 8 games and could have easily won 3 more if they had a Coach with a Brain.

Enter MR and the standards are even lower? WTF

Reminds me of the Dolphins' forums prior to 2015. I predicted 9-7 and was attacked for being absurdly pessimistic.

The Appalachian State game will be a benchmark for me. Our recent teams and style of play were more than capable of being too soft and blowing that game. If we can go to Boone and physically dictate on the line of scrimmage then I'll be confident we've started to turn the corner.

As always the ACC has plenty of pesky teams with comparable talent level to the Canes. Very unlikely to sweep competitively priced games, even if you are favored in each one.

I'll be very happy with 3 regular season losses in year one. There's a reason the sharp guys almost always bet under on the season win props. Many, many more variables can collide and influence an under than an over, where everything must go well.

As bad as we were this past season, we could have won 9-10 games with barely decent coaching. We should have NEVER lost ton Cincy, and we, again, had FSU on the ropes. No reason to think with a better coaching staff, more experienced team, and a deeper roster that we can't win 10 games this coming year.

Im starting to notice that Miami fans are starting to severely over rate just how bad our last coaching staff was. They were bad but you guys act like they are the only thing that kept our team away from being championship contenders last season.
