I was REALLY hoping the FIU game would be that last weekend of the year. Made WAYYYYYY too much sense not to have it then, and we had the flexibility to choose when. Incredible man.

Pro: Thanksgiving weekend, so you counteract the empty student section with increased ticket sales.

Money. they're already paying Savanna State and FIU to come to Hard Rock and get smoked. They had to sign these home/home deals with G5 teams to fill their schedule. Think Ciny, Ark State, USF in recent years. With attendance increasing over the last couple of seasons, hopefully, they won't have to resort to this kind of scheduling anymore.

I like how we spread out our non-conference cupcakes this year.

Playing Savannah State after LSU is beneficial because it separates a big-time game (LSU) with a potential trap game in Toledo.

Also, playing FIU right before we start our ACC schedule offers us a smooth, comfortable transition into conference play.
