How was their strength and conditioning under Richt? I recall them having some physical freaks like Gurley, Jarvis Jones, etc.

they're well-conditioned, right? do his lines seem to get overpowered at the LOS?

will he keep swasey or bring in his own guy? does he believe in fattening up players like the previous regime or allowing athletes to retain lean muscle to remain explosive?

I'm too excited. Gonna be watching tape on Georgia all winter long to find out what we have in store

When did he stop calling the plays and coaching QBs at UGA? Got to go back to then and what he ran at FSU

He has always had very good offensive lines. He will make that a strength here. I forget the all American he plucked out of Miami that we did not even recruit.

He was a co-coordinator with Cochran at Bama before went to UGA. Anything has to be better than the sh*t Swasey has been producing strength wise under that last three coaches.

are you kidding?? UM absolutely recruited the AA kid from miami that went to uga.

Mark Hocke came last year and really made a difference. Unfortunately he was not there long enough before Mark was let go. Before that it was really pretty sad. Joe T as everyone called him had been the S&C coach in the 80s and was still there.

That probably means Smart will keep him at UGA, which probably means Richt doesn't have a guy of his own to bring along, which probably means Swasey could stay.

Not a strength.

UGA got their **** pushed in a bunch in big games. Giving up 350 yards on the ground to Bama in the SEC Championship game in 2012 comes to mind.

Will be a huge hire for Richt.

If somehow Swasey survives again, I am done.

To be honest the biggest reason why I didnt want a "Miami guy" is bc I want someone who will have no qualms about firing that clown. Never seen anyone underperform for so long, and so obviously, and yet continue to be employed.

I read a tweet sometime over the last few days about Sabans staff being raided this offseason and that if Smart is hired at UGA it is expected that Bama's S&C coach will follow him. So.....there's that hope, right?

Mark Hocke was named Director of Strength and Conditioning at the University of Georgia on Dec. 14, 2014, after serving as University of Alabama Co-Associate Football Strength and Conditioning.
Hocke has served the previous six years under Alabama Director of Strength and Conditioning Scott Cochran. During that time, he was part of a program that won three SEC championships, three national championships and 72 games in last six seasons. While serving at Alabama, he helped developed several NFL draft choices including first rounders Dre Kirkpatrick, Julio Jones, and Mark Ingram.
Prior to joining the Alabama staff, Hocke served five seasons as assistant football and head strength coach at his alma mater, Jesuit High School in New Orleans. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business from the University of New Orleans.

I thought Smart was taking Cochran with him from Bama.

I went to the uga-bama game this year. Their S&C coach leads the team before the game and just before the start of the 2nd half. He's on the field getting the whole team hyped up. It was actually a pretty cool pregame ritual.... And effective. A lot better than the usual lazy pregame nothingness at our games.

Yup the S&C coaches are so much more than personal trainers. These guys are the heart and soul of a football squad. They spend more time with the players than any other coach.

Yeah we need Cochran to go from Bama to UGA and Hocke to follow Coach Richt down to Coral Gables.

Max Jean-Giles (sp?) I think we recruited him but he just chose UGA
