Anyone else worried about the article

You guys are crazy. We are going to get drilled. First,the booster was all alone and no one would corroborate his story. Now, his stooge after initially saying that Shapiro was lying, does a 180 and corroborates some of the stuff. And to make it worse, he talks about our assistant coach and our head coach getting him to try to change Freeman's mind. If Freeman and/or his mother have corroborated this story, then the NCAA is going to treat it as fact. Sure, the overall monetary numbers pale in comparison to what we have heard about SEC schools paying for single recruits, but the NCAA isn't going to take those "rumors" into consideration when they deal with us.

Able is my boy and all of the we skate stuff sounds nice, but when you step back and take it all in, we're in trouble. Shapiro got it started, but Allen's *** is providing the finishing move. FML
 
The violations were so long ago. Only thing is the recruitment of ray ray and dye who already served suspensions. I dunno but nothing there seems to be new
 
Didn't Ray Wrong, jacory et.al already get punished? NCAA will need to bend over backwards to dish out more. We've been on probation for a decade, enough. BTW, nice game last night Golden. You actually out-performed that Sun Bowl team.
 
I am incredibly disappointed in Navarro and Weaver. I am sadly not surprised by the Herald. Their "investigative" piece of "journalism" adds nothing new to this old story. Their is nothing in it that the NCAA doesn't already know. Heck, Navarro and Weaver say so in their article. There is nothing in this article worthy of front page coverage. There is nothing in it that merits multiple pages of print. So why write it? Why publish it on the front page of the local paper the day after what could have been a momentum changing game for a football program trying hard to change it's negatively perceived national reputation and is comprised of a coach and kids that had nothing whatsoever to do with the apparent shenanigans of their predecessors? What the article does do, however, is give the national media another opportunity to kick UM's reputation around some more. An opportunity to repeat the same old story so as to reinforce this negative reputation. I presume Navarro and Weaver saw this as their opportunity to show off their journalistic investigative skills. I see it as a pathetic effort to achieve personal gain. I can't help but think of Navarro and Weaver as the guys that in some misguided effort to show off, kick the guy who has just been beaten up by others and is lying defenseless on the ground. I assume they will defend it by saying they are objective journalists who can't show bias. While I agree with the concept, this article is not an example of that concept. It is a pathetic effort by Navarro and Weaver for personal gain.
 
I actually read this article about a week ago on some other site (can't remember which one) and it was almost verbatim to this article. I'm not saying the Herald isn't biased, but they aren't the ones stirring this pot, they are just perpetuating the story. I agree with an earlier poster.... let's just get this s*&T over and move on. If we lose scholarships, Golden, bowl bids, whatever..... Let's just get it done and let's move on.

That is why Shapiro was/is furious. All of his allegations point to him. The things he did would be almost impossible for anyone to know about. He feels as if the NCAA should severely punish UM for his deceitful ways. The more that he speaks the more it points to him and Allen as the slim balls who abused the trust of people that were fund of them

I hope they get a severely cold shoulder from The Canes for a respectable amount of time. ****ers.
 
Some of you guys keep killing the messenger and pretending like this isn't a big deal, you are absolutely delusional. You can rationalize it any way you want, but the bottom line is we are going to get hammered and it is going to be really bad. I suspect it will be worse than what USC got, but not as bad as Penn Sate. It won't be catastrophic, but it will be close.

My Uncles buddy is an Auburn guy, he said they had Cams dad go to horse track, pick a certain horse and thats how he got his money and the ncaa will never be able to prove it.
 
This is the last straw for the Herald for me.


The Sun-Sentinel is already killing them. Casagrande is doing great work and he seems to know more about being a beat writer for a local team anyway.


Manny is too buisy eating Cuban pastries to actually do some real work. He posted some stupid video last week and all it was was some chick asking Dorsett which teammate smells the worst. Now he basically just regurgitated the same story other people have written. And those people hate the program.


Boycott the Herald. Put Manny and the Cat Lady out of work.
 
**** journalists. any credibility or standing that profession had is long gone, TMZ wannabes at this point. Good thing in 10 years there wont even be a paper to give money to.
 
The one thing that I can't figure out surrounds Hernandez. Could the University be so messed up that they still have this guy on the payroll, or have they determined the allegations are bogus? I know most Alumni love Shalala, but she won't survive a finding of LOIC.

Astounding that supposed investigative reporters from Yahoo, CBS and the Herald can spend all of this time, effort and money on "trying" to find dirt on the Miami program and then regurgitating, over and over, the same information in multiple formats and forums .... but, they spend zero time investigating and trying to find out what really happened to Brian Pata! A great young man whose family has never had closure on the tragedy of his death!! Guess it is too much work to get out there and 'truly' do investigative reporting and truly help those of us in the Miami family/community!!!

The Miami Hearald is one of the only newspapers in the nation that has no problems burying their hometown college program.

The only reason why Charles Robinson and Shapiro hooked up initially was that Robinson read Barry Jackson's August 29th, 2010 Herald article that alleged vague accusations from Shapiro against UM.

There was no reason Barry Jackson should have written that original article. Without that article, Shapiro would still be rotting in jail and the scandal wouldn't have ignited. Of course, Barry Jackson and Nevin Shapiro have been butt buddies since HS.

If you're a Miami Hurricane fan, you should stop giving any money at all to the Herald.
