Anyone else find it odd...

I believe it was Suzie Kolber that asked him if it was him in the photo. Tunsil said "yes, I am blesed." ESPN totally avoided the comments. I got to give Tunsil props for owning it. He did not try to sugar coat anything. We all want people to tell the truth but when they do we kill them. He will be fine.

Usually it's boosters who provide money to kids!!! The fact that coaches and Ad's and Assistant Ad's are involved in paying players and families is certainly a lack of institutional control!!! They killed us for what a bOoster did!! Imagine if our coaches and AD were paying players and families!! The kid admitted to it! The text messages are clear. Let's see how the NCAA protects the golden goose SEC. If this was Miami - death penalty!! The killed us over a booster. This is coaches and the head of the Athletic Department or AD, systematically paying players and their families. They met and discussed what was to be paid monthly which is clear in the text messages

Everyone suspected Ole Miss for that 2013 class and how in world they pulled off Nkemdiche, Tunsil, Treadwell, and Vonn Conner who were all number one at their position. There have been rumors for years. Now there is concrete proof that ole miss is cheating, and not even the usually suspect boosters or bagmen. This is coaches and AD's! If the coaches and AD's are paying them money, imagine what the shadowy bagmen are paying them on the side anonymously?? Let's see NCAA.....what more evidence do you need. This follows Saban letting go of a longtime assistant accused of recruiting violations. SEC is flush with cash payouts and it can no longer be ignored. When is the NCAA gonna treat them like Miami and hand out lack of institutional control violations?

If it is as bad as coaches and the AD involved in shady business, it sounds like SMU in the 1980's . Don't hold your breath waiting for the Death Penalty, though. The NCAA only reserves that kind of speculation when a Miami player is caught farting on a crowded elevator.

Or using the improper fork utencil when eating a salad.

ESPN is bleeding money on long term investments, not hundreds of thousands, but millions. They will protect the golden goose at all cost.

ESPN can't be trusted to cover the $EC as it is financially vested in the $EC succeeding. It's their greatest CFB cash cow in ratings. Conflict of interest.

By extension, I don't believe that ESPN can properly report on programs that are non-$EC and being investigated by the NCAA.

ESPN Still Playing Darth Vader at Disney's Profit Party - Fortune

The bottom line is : ESPN, which provides between 30-50% of revenue and operating profit for Disney is currently focused on cost cutting, regeneration of subscriber revenue, and overall better financial performance. That's how it's always worked, but they have extra pressure on them now from Disney HQ, based on these negative Wall Street reports.

"Fairness" to non-SEC clients is very low on their priority list, since their partnership with the SEC can directly relate to their financial performance within Disney.

Simple logic and rationale.

Actually, no.
If he was the recipient of improper benefits, he should not have admitted it, especially after he is no longer playing for his
school.
What he did is no different than what Tyrone Moss, Dan LeRetard, Armando Salguero and (allegely) Kyle Wright did to their alma-mater in Coral Gables.

It's called SNITCHING....that's the only title they own.

I wonder if Tunsil "owned" those payoffs while the NCAA was investigating him last year when he was trying to regain eligibility. Something tells me he wasn't so forthright when he still had something to gain by lying--his college eligibility. Suddenly, he's Mr. Honest now that he has no college eligibility left.

Gotta love these new generation "everyone gets a medal" dopes always looking to congratulate everyone even when they're scumbagging it up.

What's going to do Old **** in is the same thing that ended Tressel's career--lying about the payoffs. You know they inquired if there was anything else going on when they were investigating Tunsil last season. And you can be very certain he didn't "own" these payoffs from the staff bagman.

Chise,

I think folks are simply parroting what the spin-masters at ESPN and other assorted SECoPhants are spewing in order to tidy up the
repututation of their money-maker conference.
You know, Tunsil the poor kid from disadvantaged family situation who was trying to help his mama pay the light bill juxtaposed with
Ole Miss just trying to help these kids and how at the end of the day all of these kids should be paid.
I listened to these mouth-breathing SEC shills on SiriusXM these last few day and to a tee they are all singing from the same
song sheet.
One of them (Mark Packer) is even advocating that the "serious" schools like Alabama, OSU,etc should break away from the other
70 or so schools and go ahead pay the players outright....stuff like that.
All self-serving tripe for their beloved money-maker conference and, unfortunately, we have fans slurping up all of this
nonsense.
