RVA already provided an answer, but you may have missed it with the tears in your eyes.

You got band from a thread just like dozens of others have. Quit acting like it’s some gross injustice and get on with your life.

Here is the deal: I am Catholic so I obeyed my parents until they died because God said to; I obey the Pope for the same reason; I obey my wife because she is meaner then me and I obey anyone who signs a paycheck with my name on it. Any other little control freak not falling into one of those categories is just out of luck. Well, I am fairly sure you are not god, even with a little g, and you sure as **** not my wife because you are far to easy going, so that leaves the paycheck thing. I have examined all my income streams, small and large, and can't find one leading back to any unknown you might be or CIS, so that leaves out of luck.

I am a old man and my signature was on the bottom of one of the checks that got Howard to take the Hurricane job so clearly most of my life is behind me and been okay. I have spent time in holding cells for telling off judges who are gods with little g's so I think I can handle your Brownshirt act. I've always liked RVA and yours post and I really like CIS and posts of others here. many of whom have serious intellect, but if you all are such candy asses that you can't take any push back, then do whatever the **** you need to. I've enjoyed the site but I'll survive. After all, we won our first NC without you and the last also. Heck, maybe you guys are just bad frigging luck.

Stay on the site. I’ve always liked your contributions, and I appreciate your thoughtfulness and honesty with this post.

The political stuff was out of control and had to be reigned in. The only way to do it was to curb stomp even a whiff of it for a time, then see how the board adjusts. Is it your fault? No. Is it Tad’s? No. Has it worked? Yes. Is the cost too high? Not sure, maybe.

Again, I appreciate you and your contributions and don’t want you to leave. But right or wrong we had to try something to curtail the nonstop thread derailment along poe-lit ickle lines, and this was the chosen path.

LoL, Lack of NCs aren't your fault, but I did think of that angle with some other high profile porsters.

I think you are one of the better posters, but if it ain't fun anymore....maube take a break until the season starts up. This year should be good. And hopefully after Nov 3rd it lightens up.

Your insight on the Beirut Explosion was nice to have. Having OT discussions like that isn't really the problem, IMO, it's the people who try to connect every single thing to something else and are always hammering away at their position.

I could be guilty of that because I don't pay that much attention to the title of the thread and tend to react to what is being said. I find a lot of people here that are more fun the deal with than other "social" sites. Actually this has been the only site I come to for several years. Has some smart people but most importantly for me is that if we are Canes, then we are family. I find that a safe place to retreat to when conversations get to heated. Kind of corny but being a Cane is an identity for me and one I picked. Take care.

I appreciate the kindness and understand the problem. For me, this site is a family gathering. My heritage is NY Italian Catholic and Southern Methodist married in Cubans, so our "family" gatherings are not always comfortable but dang there are fun. What I love about this site is that unlike any political type site, here we have a common bound that has been lost in the rest of the country -- we are CANES. I have found it possible to always retreat to that when it gets to hot. Keep that in mind. The uprising that was THE U had more impact than just sports. It would be nice to find a way for that to continue on this site. Hey, I even get faster news here than the news media gives us and I am not talking sports. Apparently some of our posters watching everything an post it here. There is a line in the sand though -- Donna. She destroyed the football program for "p" reasons and I cannot promise not to espouse on that often.
