Anybody catch the comments about Tagovailoa family?

So true story and if I’m lying GOD strike me down. Check my previous post. I live in Hawaii (Military)

I’m at a Command where there are about 50% civilian and 50% Military.

I overheard some local (from Hawaii... Polynesian and Filipino) guys today talking and one was saying how Alabama gave the Kid dad a Job.

True story... and again check my post history where I have stated where I live.

For the record, I’m from Mississippi (similar to Alabama) Hawaii is nothing like the South. Nothing!

Of course it isn’t. But we have people here slurping Bama and GA so hard they want people to believe it is.

You must be stationed in Oahu I’m guessing. Do you ever get to the other islands. Do you get to enjoy living there?

I love Hawaii. Especially crazy about the north shore there and especially in Kauai.

was thinking about this too when they said the whole family moved. I mean here is the deal. Even if his family turned down bags. Bama doesn't have to drop cash make sweet deals. Becuase the NCAA can't tell someone how much rent to charge for their property, or how much someone is willing to pay their employees or how much a deal sells his cars for. The NCAA can pretend that they track this stuff down to that level but they don't.

SO would I be surprised if they got a sweet deal on the place they live at within the state of AL: NO
would I be surprised if mom or dad is getting a hire salary than most ppl in whatever line of work they are doing if it's in the private sector: NO
would I be surprised if they got a really sweet deal on a new ride: No

Bama is deep in the games on all levels. W/ Benefits that go well beyond just bags.

That's pretty much all wrong.

If you're renting a $2K/month house for $150/month, then you're getting an impermissible extra benefit. If they really wanted to crack down on that stuff, they could do it quite easily by seeing what the going rate in the neighborhood for similar housing is. Same thing with cars and anything else.

Alabama pays/enriches the players FAMILIES. Not the players.

It's a system - and it's deep and wide. It's proven effective for scores of years.

New job, "company housing," moving expenses, and company cars - just part of an employment package. These guys are very, very creative.

More than one way to skin a cat.

Still impermissible. They're just not enforcing it.

Bingo. Even in Reggie Bush’s case, it wasn’t the NCAA that caught them, the NCAA only looked into it and acted when the press outed the situation, IIRC. Good luck being a reporter in Tuscaloosa trying to investigate any of this impermissible benefit stuff. And national media has shown that they could care less about any of it, at least when it comes to $EC schools as well as Clem$on, O$U, and some others. Bama is clearly good at what they do, but the playing field is hardly level.

Yes Navy stationed on Oahu. I love it here and may try to come back here again after I retire (17 years in). I been to Kauai once, and Big Island once. Normally when I want to get off the island, I fly to San Diego or LA. BAH and Cola allows me to, lol.
