Gadbois could be back for VT not sure on KC

I spoke to a high school friend of Gadbois at the GT game. This kid was wearing his jersey and was too young to be his dad so I struck up a conversation. Gadbois had PRP treatment (in lieu of surgery) on his knee to accelerate the healing process. PRP is a relatively new treatment option for soft tissue injuries that avoids the more invasive traditional surgery route. It has about an 80% effective rate on certain types of UCL injuries in baseball.

According to his friend, Gadbois is scheduled for an examination sometime this week during which doctors will asses the effectiveness of the PRP treatment and make a final decision on the need for surgery. It is not a sure thing and surgery might very well be needed.

Sounds like he'll be ready for spring. Wish the kid a speedy recovery, we are going to need him at lt next year.
