Any quick fix (as in 2018) for the OL?

Truly elite Canes teams are separated by the play of their OL.

Its a basic principle of football that great OLs open up everything from the run to play action and resting of your defense.

Any JUCO kids coming in? Any backups primed to play better? Just cant win with a group that is so feeble on third and short (worst in FBS).

Are you not capable of checking our commit list?

And our 3rd down struggles have other issues besides OL play

True freshman OL are not quick fixes. Im talking getting a JUCO or two in here.

Not having the defense know what you're about to do would probably help the unit.

Yeah but come on man... we should be able to line up and impose our will on Pitt. OP has a point. The o-line has not been getting enough push.

Not sure if that's coaching or personnel.

The OL isn’t good enough to consistently run for 4 yards yards on 3rd and 3. As a unit they are physically weak, and lack quickness. An average DL beats them more often than not. We needed Rosier to run designed draws to open up the offense in the red zone. What does that tell you?

There is some young talent there but we need another infusion. I wouldn’t be upset if the 10th coach was an OL assistant. I wouldn’t be upset if Searles left.

I don't think we're elite enough to impose our will at virtually anything but on opponent OLs, and even that aspect can be neutralized exactly as opponents are doing now: quick drop passing game from spread sets.

We're an average offense run by a dysfunctional dynamic between a wildly inaccurate QB and a coach who calls a limited set of plays.
We're an above average defense whose shown its hand and has now shown more of the vulnerabilities (spread sets, quick pass game, etc.) I've mentioned.
We're a below average special teams unit.
All in all, we've won some close games and overachieved until this absolute stinker. Top to bottom crap game.

How much of the play calling limitations are the result of Rosier’s inconsistencies? And what would help the problem, other than a better QB?

Have you guys really forgotten the last three years concerning the O Line?!? Kayaa last year?!? Our O Line is trash minus Donaldson & St Louis. Gauthier is serviceable at times...the whole left side needs to GTFO after this season, which they will due to graduation.

Probably a lot, but how come we do not try other things like roll outs, motion, etc.? We line up and run our stuff. Kaaya may have rolled out more last year than we have this year. Kaaya couldn't be effective because he had cement feet. Rosier isn't as effective as Coach Richt wants him to be because he is insanely inaccurate. Is the answer to just have a QB with reasonable accuracy and feet? I really don't know.

I still have hope that CMR has been holding back offensively. i have never seen a team that uses less motion than ours this season. The couple of times we used it first qtr against ND it worked really well. No way we beat Clemson with our basic 3 set offense. We have a chance if we can run some things they haven't seen on film from us.

This is where if you have any clout as HC you go to the admin and say we need to admit a JUCO or two for the OL.

Next year could be very successful for us IF we have a major OL upgrade. If not, we aint going anywhere. Its same **** important and has been ignored forever.

How can we have an offensive line full of 4-star recruits and even a 5 star.... and we can't punch it in on the goal line against mediocre ACC Coastal defenses?

I'm not defending our playcalling, but I do think it's troubling when we supposedly have so much more talent than any of the teams we play, yet we can't move anyone off the ball.

That's either a bad job by the position coach, or Kehoe's old recruits just aren't as good as their ranking.

We should be getting more push and we should be able to open up running lanes, but that isn't happening.

I'm not 100% sold on Searles.

Yeah. There needs to be more to the offense than Rosier draws and RPOs. I think the subpar OL play is more of a hinderance than Rosier.

On to Charlotte.

Last years OL class was incredible. It's about developing those guys.

2018 kids just aren't gonna be able to help that fast on the line.
