Any OC or DC’s to be considered for HC job at Miami?

First name that jumps out is Venables at Clemson. Is it worth the risk? Anyone else?
No except obrien. We need hc experience, it has to be a proven coach. No more g5 or dc hires from within (Shannon, Diaz)
we can’t afford to not get this next hire right. It’s now or never, if they won’t pay for a real coach and assistants then nothing changes

Anybody suggesting bill o brien needs to go back and read up on the **** show he helped fuel in Houston.

Even if he by some miracle worked out here, he would be on the first bus out of here if an nfl team came calling.

From what I’ve read, he has no interest In coaching in college again. Lsu was a springboard, he hated recruiting and he always had his eyes set on the pros. Sure, you can make him say no but I think that’s a pipe dream.
That’s fair.

Well he was an OC in college, rb coached that coached Peterson and Charles, runs one of the most electric offenses in the league. I'll concede he came into a very favorable position. I'm not clamoring for him or anything, plenty of others I would take over him. I just don't think he would be the worst hire we could make, by any stretch.
The team he was OC for won 4 games in 2 years and scored <20 points in 16 of those games. Other than that he was an RB coach.

Until he shows he can call plays and elevate and offense without Andy Reid and Mahomes, I’m not buying stock in him.

**** no! Guy isn’t even a real OC working with a once in a lifetime talent at QB under on of the top 5 coaches of all time. There is a reason he isn’t being hired and it’s not bc he’s black so get that lazy excuse out of the way.

I don’t want to derail the thread but this type of thinking is inherently biased and is the root of the problem and can’t go unchecked.

So in order for a black guy to be a HC he needs to work with trash QBs (players make them all pros) and be an un-mentored OC/DC? That’s not the same standard that guys like Zac Taylor, Dan Campbell and Matt Patricia where held to.

Calling plays is already proven not to be a pre-requisite requirement for being a head coach.

And other guys who’ve held the same position as EB have gotten head coaching shots.

Tell me he sucks at interviewing, tell me he’s being very selective with his choices of teams/QBs he’d work for/with.

But don’t give me some checklist of requirements that only Applies minority coaches.

As far as the canes… I don’t want any first time HC.

Joe Brady and EB are intriguing names. But I’m really concerned with the learning on the job stuff.

Don’t want Brett V either.

Would prefer an offensive minded coach this go
Round.
