Yup he’s having a great camp but won’t beat out Succop. Honestly, I hope he gets cut and the Browns sign him.

Basically Tampa knows they lucked into a future All-Pro kicker but their starting kicker is just as good. They are attempting to keep him under the radar to put him on the practice squad thus why he isn't doing much beyond training camp. He will 100% make a team this year, but no way he stays with Tampa.

This is correct. The Bucs would love to keep both but probably can’t and they know Succup can perform under playoff pressure and they don’t know that about Borregales. Someone is going to get a really good kicker…..

Tl;dr version: Jose is being Jose, Tampa Bay invested alot of money into Succop, so despite outperforming him, practice squad stash and pray seems likely.

hopefully Minnesota does what they should have done in the draft and get him off waivers.

I have to wonder if Jose B. had any other UFA offers. Going to Tampa might have seemed cool from a standpoint of wanting to play close to home but it may not have been the right choice from the standpoint of winning a roster spot. It makes me question; (1) If he had any other camp offers and/or (2) Who's advising him.

You have to be cut and pass through waivers in order to be signed to a practice squad.

hmmm, maybe the Bucs trade Succop as a known entity to improve their roster knowing Borregales can do the job whereas they expose Borregales if they try to keep him on the practice squad they gain nothing.

Someone will toss them a 3-4rd pick for him.
Not sure someone would trade for succop with what they are paying him. Where as everyone wins in a Borregales trade. Bucs look smart for gaining a couple rounds on their pick and the team getting him gets their guy at a fairly cheap price.
