Any know how Evidence Njoku is progressing?

I believe he was injured last year. Will he be full go when practice starts? I just saw the other brother (Charles) who is a 4 star committed to Mizzou over the weekend.

Charles committed to Mizzou? Isn’t he the best of all the brothers in terms of being athletic, size, and speed? Hopefully if that is indeed him that Richt is on the bandwagon quick - we should have the edge with 2 of the 3 already having enrolled at the U.

Yes he committed to MIzzou, I am not sure we offered him.

****...a 6'4 kid with those blood lines who also a 4 star.

I wonder what we didn't like??

From what I've read on this board is that Charles hasn't been really recruited as much. Could see him ending up in this class if we're willing to add another WR if we miss on a target...I doubt that he is the best of the Njoku family tho, other Power 5 programs would be much more involved in his recruitment if he was that good! You don't ignore the little brother of an NFL Tight End in your recruiting if he is the most talented out of the family especially when you're Miami.

Relax, its July

...and now Its almost August!!

You see the media footage of him in his uniform doing the Chief Slam? Evidence is the longest receiver at 6"6 I've ever seen. I'm still holding out for him to gain 25 more pounds. He's 2 inches taller than David. I think he could play the same type of TE role David played.

He’s built a lot like Greg Carr the old FSU receiver

We literally have to start a thread about this kid at least once every 3 months because posters like me completely forget hes even on the team. I hope he finds a place for himself in the rotation after this year because we have some serious talent in that WR room and more on the way in 2020.

No way he ever puts on enough weight to be a TE from what I have seen of him. He is tall and lanky. These are like the people who wanted Cager and Langham to be TEs.

Evidence is the most underrated player talked about. I'm absolutely excited to see him this year as even in his short time last year in camp last year he showed a catch radius we've never had here from a WR (not hyperbole). If he's healthy I would absolutely not be shocked by a 5 TD season. He will be a matchup nightmare in the red zone.

Evidence has to work on his quickness off the line & become more physical to be a regular in the rotation...

Gotta have quickness off the line to have success on underneath routes (which is the case for all receivers), and having that opens your game up as it makes the CB respect your ability!

**If a receiver has limitations at the LOS, a good CB will quickly capitalize on that weaknesses, limiting you to being a one trick pony. This typically hapens to tall lanky WR's that aren't physical players (think Tommy Streeter - not serviceable underneath).

It's not the case with all Tall WR's, just the lanky long striding tall guys. For instance, the difference with Evidence Njoku and Lawrence Cager is the body type! Cager moreso has a long torso/shorter lower body - which helps him in the area of having quick feet.

Now, if a long strider is physical (Terrell Owens) that helps, but if not, at best you're limited to being a Hail Mary guy, or someone you plug in as a run blocker...and when the running game is clicking, you can hit him on some play action passes...

-- Or the coaching staff can start Evidence Njoku, and simply throw him some regular 10 yard jump balls!
