Any early news on Frank Ladson?

Pretty quiet for a potentially key addition to WR group. Curious if anyone has any early intel?
A friend of my kid walked by Ladson at school the other day and said he was showing good speed, looked fit and didn't drop the book he was carrying.

I watched his highlights on YouTube recently. One thing that stuck out to me was he caught the ball with his body a lot. Very few highlights of him snatching the ball.

There were a few screens thrown to him. He doesn’t get to top gear as quick as some guys, but he can move a little for his size.

As Robes said, it’s a free lotto ticket. He saw PT as a freshman at Clemson so he must’ve shown them at least something. If you take away the stars and the expectations that come with them, and treat him like the Juco kid, if you get any contribution from him it is a plus.

I'm always willing to give a guy a chance.

But when you scratch off that ticket, there is always a chance this jabrone is what you've won.

I still have hopes for Ladson. "Dropsies" can be overcome if he gets his head & technique right. The change of scenery & staff should help him. But at this point, I'm thinking there's a good chance Colby Young plays ahead of him...love what I see on film, regardless of the competition.

Who gives a ***** about all that BS. What can he do today? That's what matters not that he caught 9 balls in 2020 or whenever it was and no context as to why!!!

Quite frankly, if it were about his stats, he wouldn't be here. So, it ain't THAT.
You are what your record says you are. He's had 3 years in college and caught 27 balls. What else would you suggest we base our likely assessment of his role here on? Because none of that matters. I mean, I hope he turns into Tommy Streeter part II and becomes a star, but we have nothing to suggest he could have a similar season. As it is, he was running with the 2s in summer camp (Key and George were ahead of him with X in the slot, and now Brinson is back too).

And btw, I'm not dogging him. I really don't have an opinion on his game. I haven't seen much of him. My only point is that based on what we know, the more likely outcome is he's a rotational contributor and not the #1 alpha some in this thread hope simply because he was a 4 or 5 star several years ago.

Come on bro Ladson does not suck. He hasn't lived up to his potential. He just has to put it all together.
Ok. I suppose that's fair. But in that context does that mean noodles doesn't suck either? He's just got to put it all together? I will say ladson has shown more than noodles atleast. His hands are real suspect too though.

Bro you can fix hands just like Hankerson got better. Noodles refused to hit the weight room All those footwork drills did nothing. He stayed the same size the whole time here.

Signing colbie shows me the staff isn’t even 50-50 on that…
I don't think signing Colbie Young is an indictment on Ladson (or any WR really). I think that would definitely be true of the former staff but the Mario regime appears hellbent on amassing assets, even where there are decent pieces there. Look at the RB room for example. I don't think Mario cares about hurting someone's feelings or putting a decent CFB player to 3rd or 4th string. I think he wants to collect assets, let folks compete, and give PT to whoever is most deserving.

That’s a good way to spin it… either way I could careless as long as someone is a weapon for TVD

Ladson is better than people think. He was just plagued by injuries at Clemson. I have a feeling TVD will elevate his game. TVD makes all his weapons better than they really are. Look at Harley and Rambo for example

Naw yall trippin. I can't wait to see Frank put the Touchdown Rings on.

I mean as far as big body WRs..do we have any other options? He's the "Willie Beaman" of the WR corp. "Your all I got, Frank. So you dont have to worry about getting benched because I got nobody else." Im half kidding but between Ladson and Brinson, we absolutely need one of them to step up to be that big body option. Cant throw Young into the fire like that. He needs time. Frank and/or Romello absolutely have to step up.
