Any chance we play ND in a bowl?

That defense was anything but healthy. They were missing some of their best, most experienced players.

I'm not the expert on bowl tie-ins, but I do believe what you said earlier is true about the highest "ACC" team going to the OB, so if ND misses out on the playoff, they go there. But I don't think there's anything saying there can't be another ACC team in that game. I think the mandatory tie-in would be ND, then the bowls pick teams, and if it got to the situation where Miami was on the board, you know the OB committee would pick Miami to create that match-up.

Don't quote me, there might be some small print where this can't happen, but I don't think so.

I myself am no expert either but what you said certainly makes sense. It definitely is a match up America would want to see!

i've seen speculation that (as bs as the conference situation is), nd would be the fiesta bowl's first choice because it would maximize revenue. miami-uf orange is easy money and nd fans will watch nd regardless of who they play.

Good point. I'm getting ahead of myself. I need to focus on my beer consumption for this Saturday only. That's how you lose games, when you start to look ahead. Here I am thinking about the beer I'd drink, possibly, during a NY6 bowl when I should be focusing on the beer I need to be drinking on Saturday. We don't want the Saturday beers to sneak up on me and bang, now I'm too drunk, and wondering on Sunday what happened. Focus on the task at hand. We, as fans, control everything about the UNC matchup. If we type words on this screen about ND or UF or any other NY6 opponent, that causes a direct correlation to the performance of the kids. Thank you for your service. Message received.

YW I think....lol... I mean you can drink what you want and as much as you want on whatever day you want.... As long as the team isn't hammered on Saturday that's all I care about... That's assuming of course that the ACC doesn't do something stupid like cancel the game in which case drink everything near and then some and whatever happens blame it on the alcohol... LOL!!!!

If ND gets beat bad and florida wins against Bama, the committee will have 2 spots to give and 3 teams to choose from.

Dominant Bama team that lost the SEC championship
Dominant OSU team that barely played
ND who beat a weakened Clemson team early in the season but then lost bad to a full strength Clemson team.

Assuming Bama is in, then they'll have to decide between OSU and ND.

This is all assuming Florida wins. If Florida loses, I think ND gets in almost no matter what.
 
As much as playing ND would be cool, Beating Florida or Georgia would be more beneficial for recruiting.
