I miss the 2001 canes
So many hall of fame players and all pros. Not just NFL players but hall of fame and all pros. There is going to be several more from that time that should get a really good consideration at the hall of fame. Then also Sean Taylor was so special that he would of had a really great chance at it as well.
Eras are different and I'm probably biased, but no way in **** does Bama's current squad lift a candle to that 2001 juggernaut. And for the youngsters in this thread, if you thought LSU/Bama this year had a lot of NFL talent on the field, you should have seen the 80s, 90s, and early 00s UM/FSU games. Unreal amount of pro talent at every position.
At our best, no one comes close.
Not to be that guy, but 2001 BC almost beat the 2001 Canes

You are not factually wrong, but the difference lies in the fact that when Miami is MIAMI and on top of the college landscape, it tends to play down to its level of competition (one of its biggest Achilles heels). By contrast, the bigger the stage and the better the opponent, the more likely they were to play to their potential and steal the other team's shine (to steal a phrase from 2001 team member DJ Williams).
Strength on strength, a fully focused 2001 Canes team wins going away against modern-day Bama.
