I do not see why we'd keep Chatman given all the options at WR in So Fla this year and next.
the kid is an absolute freak athlete.

Ice will let this cat go to UF. His son needs someone to throw to.
This is THE big chance Ice has been waiting for. He will not mess with it. Guy has the chance to climb way up in college coaching with success here. His recruiting ability in So Fl will make him target, why would he let it look like he couldn't hold top talent from his own S team with his son as HC?
Calloway (and Davis) are not from Ice team because when Ice was there, they were not.
you do know who BTW's head coach is don't you?

A bit of hyperbole imo. Andre Johnson/Calvin Johnon....now those guys are 'freaks'. Chatman looks like a nice possession receiver and red zone jump ball guy.

Yeah, but does Jr really have that much influence on theses 2 kids? He probably will have huge influence on new kids after a couple of years as the HC, but right now, not so sure about that, it was Ice team, not Jr's team. But Calloway and Davis are certainly in a HUGE U environnement, no doubt about that.

Yeah, and also a NEW HC and we're talking about nwe players on this team. Let's say I have "doubt" concerning his influence on Calloway and Davis. They are not the same situation as Walton even if they are on the same team...

Callaway is a stud. Get him and Davante committed ASAP please.
Just watching over his highlights from the game. Kid is nice out there. He's really gonna blow up now being at booker t.

Callaway has said he plans to announce on NSD, so don't expect a commitment anytime soon.

If you're saying that because you think we should only take 1 WR this cycle because of the 2016 group, then I could at least see where you're coming from, from a numbers perspective.
But Chatman > Spence/Gosier. And I don't think it's all that close either. A WR class of Chatman and Peete, as well as possibly Callaway, seems at least somewhat realistic. And Chatman's skill set would complement the 2016 group very nicely.

If you told me we didn't take Spence and Gosier's commitments and you wanted Chatman, I might understand. And I said I didn't see why we 'keep' him, not why we took him. But the reality is we're not going to burn local kids who have committed, because that has long term consequences. Unless you disagree, then dumping local kids we took commitments from isn't an option. Meanwhile, no one is saying Spence or Gosier aren't UM level. And we have terrific kids committed for '16. For all those reasons, I can't get too concerned about Chatman.
I do disagree about there being long-term consequences if Gosier and/or Spence end up flipping. "Cooling off" on local players we accepted commitments from is not only an option, it's seemingly inevitable at this point at multiple positions. There's already 22 commits in this class with countless high-priority recruits still being pursued (Irvin, Peete, Clarington, Merrick, Wicker, Norton, Coney, J. Lewis, Callaway, Cole, D. Davis, etc.). We're obviously only going to land some of the remaining targets, but room will have to be made.
It's just one example, but Pete has said Nigel Bethel didn't have an offer when he flipped his commitment from Miami to Texas Tech late last year. The staff apparently cooled on him and wasn't sad to see him go. Yet we still ended up keeping both Chad Thomas and Demetrius Jackson while apparently retaining a quality relationship with the school. And we're in the running for a few really talented kids from Booker T. again this year (Callaway, Clarington, and Davis).
Both Gosier and Spence have said they plan to take all five of their OVs, so it's not like they're shutting their recruitment down and are susceptible to being blindsided if the staff cools on them down the stretch.
