Post career ventures, I graduated from UNF in Jax and had a bunch of classes with Drayton Florence and Cleo Lemon after their playing careers were over. I don’t know how much money Lemon made in the NFL but I know Drayton Florence signed a fat *** contract with the Jags back in the day. Cleo Lemon is now coaching football, last I spoke to him he was coaching with Jacksonville State University (different Jacksonville ironically) and I know Drayton Florence was embarking on some nonprofit work. Money isn’t everything, people look for fulfillment in different places.

I wonder how many wealthy professional athletes return to finish their degrees, be it for their own reasons or to please their mother, lose all their money and end up broke? As opposed to those spending all their earning on bling, luxury cars, hoes, and supporting leaches in their inner circle?

I’d bet money more of the former keep and even grow their wealth and more of the latter lose their fortunes.
