Anthony Richardson slips to the second pick...

Going forward everyone will look at what happened with Josh Allen and try to replicate it. Allen wasnt accurate but the tools were there. Richardson has the tools and someone will take a chance on him, and will probably take him earlier than they should.

Allen was way better than Richardson and played on a G5 team. We saw this man throw 11 straight incomplete passes. Allen never played that bad. Richardson has the tools but he doesn’t know how to play football. He need time to learn and should have returned to UF unless he was “encouraged” to leave

It’s a QB starved league and he’s got skills you can’t teach. Trevor Siemian and Nate Peterman and John Walford and dudes like that are starting games in the league. NFL GMs always think they’re the smartest dudes in the world. Someone will absolutely jump at a 6’4 kid weighing 240 and running 4.4 with that arm. Absolutely. If he didn’t play in sheep ****** land, the narrative would be far different here. Take the fan boy glasses off for a minute. He’s gonna get picked plenty high enough.

None of the qbs you named went higher than the 5th round and them starting games proved to be a mistake. Why would any team take him higher than the 5th? And he isn’t better than the aforementioned qbs either.

A lot of talk about him going first round and he was probably told the same which is why he probably left

I see a 4/5 round pick purely on physical traits. If you care about things like production, decision making, TD:INT ratio, wins, or completion percentage, you probably want to look elsewhere. Maybe someone takes a shot at the end of the 3rd round because they fall in love with him at the combine (where he opts not to throw). Could go anywhere from 3-7 and it wouldn't surprise me, but I personally wouldn't want to draft him before Round 4. Any earlier and some HC/GM is getting fired in 1-2 seasons.

Sooooooo...

The Gaytors might have (literally) ONE healthy decent quarterback on the roster next year.

Kitna's in jail. The other HS recruit got dropped for being racist. There might be another guy, but he's been injured all year.

Jaden Rashada really needs to earn that $11 million...
Hs recruit not racist just singing a song like every high school kid does and why is the original singer not considered racis

7th round or udfa he can come in as a wildcat qb he will never be a starting quarterback in the NFL nowhere near accurate enough to throw into the tight windows of the nfl

Because he has infinitely better tools for an NFL staff to work with than any of those guys, and honestly about 99% of the QB prospects ever. He’s a cyborg crated in a lab. Maybe he’s a terrible QB who never learns how to play the position. Wouldn’t shock me and I’d never, in a million years, bet money on his NFL production. But someone is going to take the risk and pick him because the upside is through the roof.

Richardson is a big guy with a strong arm who is fast. But…he would likely be the worst passer to go in the first round in decades. He’s a worse passer than Tebow. He’s not nearly as dynamic an athlete as Vick either. Not only that, for all the exciting plays Vick made as a Falcon, he didn’t make his team any better because he was always a below average passer. It wasn’t until years later that Andy Reid was able to get him over 60% completions.

I watched a lot of gator football this year. For some reason AR had the green light to take off in certain games and in others, it was like he was purposely told not to run. The games where he didn’t get a ton of chances to run, Florida’s offense looked like Josh Gattis was the coach. He would be a huge project at the next level and isn’t going to provide anything more than gadget plays and occasional called QB runs. Maybe, with the right coaching he can become a competent passer down the line but anybody drafting him before the third round is wasting a pick.

I just saw that Mel kiper has him rated his 4th best qb. This is ridiculous and once again shows why Mel kiper is terrible at his job. If Mel kiper was any good, a team would’ve thrown big money at him by now. But he is usually really off base and this is the typical kiper overreaction

They had very similar stats and Allen played G5. Allen had major accuracy issues but had a cannon and was athletic.

Those that can, coach. Those that can't...bloviate on ESPN each year.

I agree. But Richardson is far worse. You don’t think so? I’m really interested to see what he does but outside of that Utah game he had an extremely underwhelming year.

But will they take that risk before the 5th round?

I did the stats analysis many times this season. Outside of one/two good runs per game and/or one/two good passes per game, he was unbelievably ordinary for the other 98% of each game.

At this moment it’s easy to say that Richardson is way worse because of what Allen turned into. At the time when Allen was drafted there were a ton of similarities which is my point. When Allen got drafted many thought he was a waste of a 1st round pick. Big fast kid with a cannon but not accurate who could not dominate at a G5. It was viewed as a **** pick. The rest is history. So if you believe Richardson is worse, I’m cool with that, but best believe that some GM will use Allen as the example and take the chance on the kid. These GMs and coaches love a challenge and the tools are there.

I watched Allen play a lot in college. Did I think he would become what he is now? No. However, I thought he would be a solid qb. Josh Allen’s sophomore year is what put teams on notice. His last year was underwhelming. As for Richardson, I get what you’re saying but I don’t see teams taking that risk higher than the 5th round. I guess we’ll see around the draft.
