Anthony McFarland, Jr.

If Burns is healthy, he's a special talent. Same level as McFarland. That said, he hasn't shown he can stay healthy an entire season. And it looks like McFarland is staying in Maryland. So that leaves us Felix and who else? We haven't gone after anyone else. Maybe we just take burns this cycle. Homer is a RS this year anyway. And maybe that entices Lingard next year

Lol at giving up on an elite prospect because of Maryland. We should rarely if ever lose a recruiting battle with them regardless of DMV or not. Ohio State went in and took young, we should go in and take McFarland.

We will see what makes him better than Felix or Lemon ?

Lol Felix isn't in the same stratosphere as McFarland. Lemons is a totally different player.

And I really like Felix as a player. But McFarland is a legit RB. Felix is an athlete. Athletes don't always translate to being legit RBs.

Yup

Not to put him down or anything but McFarland is a little injury prone too.

still can't figure out why Lemons wasn't target #1 from the get go. he is BIG and fast. would've been a cane had we pursued since day 1.

He's going to Maryland.....time to turn up the heat on Felix

I never under stood what made McFarland better than Felix . He's not faster we need game changing speed not a small bowling ball . If want power get 225 pnd rb with speed . Gus could be perfect for the power if he attacks . I like one big back and one speed back . Game
Changing speed not just speed .

He is incredibly quick and has an impressive burst for a kid that is already 203 going into his senior year. He is great at catching the ball out the back field, giving him more flexibility. He is ready to pay now and could put on another 15-20 lbs and not lose explosiveness. There is a lot to like about him as a prospect because he is built like an every down type back. People forget that being short as an RB gives you advantage, the problem is that most of the smaller kids aren't built for the every down physicality of being an RB. McFarland appears to have that rare trait, and why he is so highly coveted.

According to an article right after Paradise camp, we are still on Malik Davis from Jesuit in Tampa. Haven't seen enough of him to give an opinion though.

Absolutely. A "bowling ball" as the OP described McFarland is exactly how I want my RBs. Frank Gore, Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, etc.
****, Yearby has the same build, though he's not nearly as fast as McFarland.

Take Burns and maybe Felix.. 2018 is the important year at RB, need to land Cook and Lingard

Seems like NC is all over him too . Don't think we have showed much interest .

Post-visit high. It'll wear off, and he'll realize it's **** *** Maryland, which will always be a bottom half Big 10 team.

Maryland just landed a RB commit. I wonder if they turning the heat up on him and trying to sell him on committing now to help the class.

Felix ran a 4.48 40 weighing in the 180s and mcfarland ran a 4.52 at 203. Mcfarland isnt a bowling ball rb he is a big play rb wether running or catching.

I'm in favor of guys repping their home state/area. That said and him mentioning his family being able to drive over to his games, is why I could support and understand him staying home. If he comes here I'm excited. If he stays home I understand, but if he chooses bama then that was just another bs story.
