Here we are. November 1st. Season over. It’s not talent. It’s not even scheme in the traditional sense. It’s because we are stupid. And we have been stupid since Mario took over.
Operationally : The penalties. The time outs. The special teams errors.
Philosophicallly: The lack of taking advantage of personnel and mismatches. The button mashing style. The way we can’t create anything easy on offense. The way we revert to the worst version of ourselves. The absolute cowardice in the red zone
It gives us such small margins for error that we can’t over come them after teams have tape on us. Winning requires ruthless execution and a level of aggression that we do not philosophically have. We have lacked it in every iteration of our team since he took over. Winning teams don’t drop TD passes. Don’t commit 100 yards of penalties a game. Don’t settle for FGs instead of TDs in the red zone. Don’t botch pre snap operations 5 times per quarter.
Mario has not shown an ability to coach the meticulous details needed to win. Hes also a coward. The players don’t execute when needed and haven’t for years. We do look more physical and physically talented, but if you buy a Lambo you better know how to drive it and take care of it. We have negative ability in game operations and no imagination and it costs us. Now our season crashes down in November again. Idk what the solution is. It’s evident that this isn’t going away. We are an 8-10 win team for perpetuity.
