Engram signed a contract this offseason for $23 million. Njoku signed for $54 million.
So now we're doing contracts to determine who is the better player? Are the straws that far away?

But okay... Evan Engram and Njoku signed long-term contracts in 23 and 22, with Engram signing a 3 year, 41.25 million dollar contract. The per year money is nearly identical and one guy has been more productive over the other, which is why one guy signed for a potential playoff contender, whilst the other has been rumored to be traded for some time now.

You can spin the narrative all you want to, if Arroyo wasn't playing for Miami, nobody in here would consider him either TE1 or TE2 and it wouldn't be close.

I just don't blindly subscribe to what draft pundits say.

Njoku was the third TE picked in 2017, but he ended up better than the guys picked ahead of him because he was more talented. I expect the same outcome here, barring injury.

Uhhh, has Njoku had a better career than OJ Howard? Yes. Evan Engram? No.

Njoku is a 1x Pro Bowler; Engram is a 2x Pro Bowler.

Njoku: 351 rec. 3,769 yrds 30 TDs
Engram: 496 rec. 4,922 yrds 26 TDs

I get ur point regarding not listening to the pundits, but pls understand Arroyo has major red flags, namely injuries. He’s had one productive season here, which was last season. 2021-2023 were washes, so while he may have shown “flashes of abilities” this season, front offices will eventually look at the totality of his body of work, which is y I think he’ll be a 3rd Rd or later pick.

@252cane good luck in the fight kid.

I wouldn't be surprised if teams take him off the board entirely. Struggled with injuries for his first three seasons, played one full season and then misses athletic testing at the combine because of a knee injury sustained at the Senior Bowl.

This is a deep TE class.

Why did Njoku just get paid so much more than Engram? They both became free agents at the same time at the same position. The market seems to believe Njoku has significantly more value.

And I’ll bet my house that Arroyo isn’t going third round.

1. Don’t bet ur house, b/c I’ll be the one to Rick James that bih.

2. Are we talking about the Browns Organization that gave Deshaun “Baby, Baby Oil” Watson $230m guaranteed $$, correct?

3. Njoku’s contract was for 4 yrs/$54.75m w/ $28m guaranteed in 2022.

Engram has signed two contacts in this time frame.
In 2021, he signed a 3 yr/$41.25m contact w/ $24m guaranteed & now a 2 yr/$23m contract w/ $16.5m guaranteed.

Sooooo, I think it’s Engram that’s made more $$, and mind u, Denver is getting Engram coming off an injury riddled season at a discount.

4. Salary ≠ a player is better. MJ was one of the least paid players in the league during his prime. There’s leagues full of dummies that will over spend off of potential & one good year, & immediately have buyers remorse. It’s y in the football biz, u don’t look at the big $$, u look at the guaranteed $$. That’s how teams escape bad contracts, u know, except The Browns w/ Watson.

Your numbers are out of date.

They both signed new contracts this year. Njoku got $12 million more guaranteed and more than double overall. Because seven years in, he is the better player.
Some half truths here. Engram is 2 years older and coming off 2 injury plagued seasons. If your argument is he has higher upside going forward you have a valid case. But up to this point Engram has had a more productive career.

I have to be honest, I was wrong a couple posts ago.

Njoku hasn’t signed a new contract. I was using his old one. He’s a free agent next year and currently negotiating another extension.

So that’s on me. Of course, the new one is projected to be one of the Top 3 at his position in the league, but we will have to wait and see.

Njoku is better than Evan Engram, yes.

Until Njoku stop costing me FFB championships, he’s dead to me. **** always get injured at THE WRONG TIME; but, then when I drop him & one of my opps picks him up, he goes HAM for one game against me. Dead to me, u hear me!

Why?

You used the word “complete.” Arroyo is more physical and a better blocker than Loveland. He’s faster than both. And he’s a natural receiver.

What is he missing?
Arroyo didn’t have the same responsibilities as loveland as a blocker, two different offenses. And Loveland is a much more polished route runner, arroyo is more athletic and better after the catch tho
