Baby Huey
UGA of late has stacked chip on top of chip at the DT position...Thanks.
You know we often disagree on the best DT ever at UM with so many to choose from. But the combo of Kennedy and Maryland in ‘89, with Jimmie Jones as a backup, and future NFL player, has to be the greatest collection of talent at that position ever for any school.
Jalen Rivers. Please, for the love of Christ, please be a slightly-above average ACC Left Tackle. I’m not even trying to be greedy here. Just be above-average, and this is easily a Top 3 line in the conference.
I see a really high floor if that’s the case with this scheme, the QB, the backs, Restrepo, and the Tight Ends. I just honestly don’t see how it can be bad, if Rivers can do his thing at LT. The floor is really high imo. The ceiling depends on how many explosive plays the other WRs can generate. But it’s at worst a Top 40 offense if Rivers can be a good LT and most everyone stays healthy.
FSU has Verse, Tamu has a line full of young talent, havent paid attention to see if they took next step yet, so those 3 off rip..He'll hold up fine vs. most DEs. How many great edge rushers do we face? I know Clemson's DE is the real deal. Those are the guys I'd worry about. His feet are a little too slow.
This was funny. If he could only transfer that weight to Cyrus Moss! I kid, I kid....sorta.
I seem to recall a story about someone helping Cortez Kennedy with conditioning.
Radical change since enrolling last year
That run game was so horrific I’m surprised we went 8-3 in 2020. And then won anything in 2021. Running into a brick wall with a tempurpedic pillowLashee could’ve used fletcher running behind Cooper on short distances.
Saw that too.
Gotta think our run game should be pretty potent, Im interested in seeing how they scheme it up this year with Shannon's offense.
Just judging by body type and movement skills it almost looks like our tackles and center would be better at pulling than our guards. Kind of a strange oddity but maybe they can come with some creative ways to take advantage of that. Especially Mauigoa, dude would be like running behind a semi truck.
I disagreed with u and i still stand on if rivers were competing at guard he would start lol its not a knock on Anez he’s good too. Good problem to haveI forget who it was that laughed at me when I said he’ll start over Rivers.
This dude is the truth. I watched in person at GT, he was washing out an entire section of the DL by himself. As a true freshman.
We got a **** good one.
It was Randy Shannon.Tez was so big, he was always prone to being a bit over, but he was NOWHERE near as out-of-shape as Russell Maryland out of HS.
Trust me, Tez first enrolled at UM when I was there in school, and he didn't look sloppy. Big...yes. I think the story you are referring to with Tez might involve Zo locking the refrigerator.
But you could definitely see the transformation in Russell from his first year until he left UM. In fact, that was one of the "storylines" about Russell, he was tapped into multiple UM honor societies when I was at UM, and it was for both his transformation as well as his leadership. That guy truly improved in his time at UM.
He's not the only guy on the OL that's been making strides. McCoy looks great. Rivers has finally started to take S&C seriously. Lee has added 15+ pounds (he needed to, he got demolished in the spring). Mauigoa & Okunlola have taken this seriously for years... so has Nelson & Cohen. It's matriculating into the OL and hopefully next year proves we have an entirely different S&C culture.
