Andrew chatfield offered by UF

It's hard to justify offering Rousseau and not Chatfield.

Two different type of athletes with two different types of bodies.

Rosseau has an intriguing upside but there is no question who the most college ready player out the two

How is Chatfield "college ready"? He didn't win a single rep vs OTs at the Opening, and he looked terrible against 15 year olds at our camp.

He's 220 lbs and his only pass rush move is a speed rush to the outside. He's a project who needs a couple years in the weight room and working on technique wherever he goes

No it's not. Kool is going to recruit to his type. That means big bodied frames and elite speed and athleticism. He'll take care of the rest. You can disagree with it, but it's easy to justify offering Rousseau and not Chatfield in that situation.

Rousseau is my only question on Kool if he indeed Kools target. I aint defaulting to him on that one just yet. Rousseau seldom plays dline...and isnt physical on the back end..to be honest he isnt even in Kool's mold either. He is an interesting athlete as an OLB...NOT AS A DE to me. If Chatfield is considered ot light i dont know what to say about Rousseau as he is even smaller.

Watch in pads where he dominated on his film at American heritage. 1 on 1s without pads is not real football. Out at the opening he won and loss some reps. What he has shown on film is that he can get after the qb

He looks better with Tyson and Nesta locked in

Kid probably has 10 seconds a play to get a sack with campbell and surtain locking down the WR's....not to mention nesta eating double teams.
DE is all about winning one on one battles and he's shown against equal talent he folds in EVERY camp. Let's see what he does his senior year. If he could play better in space i'd say he's a take but currently he's not athletic enough.

I hope we offer Chatfield I always liked him and 24 sacks in Dade aint easy

Broward

And he was DPOY in a county that has a ton of legit defenders

Its still impressive aand all he needs is coaching/..........do the big time programs have a problem with his strength? They taking greg whos a project unless they think AC is maxed out

Ok. Is he going to play American Heritage's schedule in high school? He's a good high school player, but recruiting is about seeing who will be the best college player. I looked at AHS schedule and it seems like he may have faced off with 1 P5 OT.

Joe Jackson had like 6 sacks his last year of HS, should we not have taken him?

Kool wants tall, long athletic freaks. Chatfield just isn't that

also we need to establish a American Heritage pipeline . chatman, silvera, campbell, herbert would do the trick

More so than just Silvera, Campbell, & Herbert???

Seriously, explain it to me-- why is Chatfield the linchpin to all things Heritage according to this board?

i dont want to risk Florida pulling chatfiled, silvera and campbell . or any school pulling the three .

I am fine with getting a package of 2 studs and 1 iffy guy

he looked just as good when Nesta was playing offensive guard and Tyson was a wr on JV just switching to cb.

Hes a good player may not be a scheme fit..but he will make plays wherever he goes in my opinion. If Trent Harris has a place here he likely can play in the two deep

He whipped up on 2 Power 5 ot's just in practice at AH with one being expected to play for us. AH has played iMG and a bunch of national schools where Chatfield has made plays against big time players. You really need to do your history.

Question for the film junkies. Who's game does Chatfield closely resemble coming out of high school. I personally trust Kool so I'm not even worried, but just curious. I know people have said he is too small for DE and too slow for LB.

More athletic Trent Harris that has a better get off which is good for us. Harris constantly stays in the backfield

Trent Harris is WAY better than Chatfield. Stop disrespecting

Also he actually did ok at the opening, won some reps loss some..but held his own there. He got beat by our own Scaife but did pretty well. Ill say he and Toolbox are similar with Toolbox having him by about 10 pounds at the same age. Chat has played against better talent than Trent in High school though by far...

Didnt jaquwan nelson have about 20+ sacks one season in hs. He ended up at syracuse. The number of sacks in hs don't mean shît.

AHS played IMG last year? That's weird, maybe you need to do your history.

And everybody know Herbert wasn't at his best last year because he was (and I'm not surprised you ignored this) playing hurt.

Again, if he wasn't a Heritage kid, he wouldn't even have a OSU or UF offer. I didn't say he can't play college football. I think he'd be solid at a 3-4 school like Wisconsin. He just doesn't fit what we want in a DE and he's not athletic enough to be a 4-3 OLB.

I'm not sure why it's that difficult to understand. There are plenty of good players this staff doesn't think are fits. Yet Chatfield is the one everyone freaks out about
