the thing that sucks about manny is that hes got the right attitude and personality to be the miami guy, but he cant coach and its obvious. his OC is utter trash and the D has regressed w the loss of talent and him not being the full time DC anymore

we've had 1 10 win season no matter the schedule. dont expect it. the expectation is 8-4 no matter the schedule bc we aren't that program

lol when you fail on like 5 straight hires, its time to realize that miami will never be what it was. we had a great 80s run but we aren't a traditional power. everything hit right in the early 00s, but thats far and gone w the way recruiting is now compared to then. CFB is a big money business and we (as a school and booster base) dont spend on the level needed. we started to under richt, but gave the keys to another failure

Vegas had us at 7. Wonder how many of the suckers here threw money away. Of course it was a rebuild, they're the only ones who didn't know it though.

Surprised we lost, but as I said before the season we could win any game and lose any game. Nothing would be a given with this team. Still surprised at some things, but that's football for you.

And when we went 7-6 last year it was "Miami is a QB away." I just don't know what you're saying with 7 wins and Vegas. I saw 8.5. That seemed reasonable to me.

Disagree, none of that makes any sense when we're more talented than 99% of our schedule. There is no excuse to lose to these teams and I don't buy for a second that we aren't more talented. It will take a competent AD that will hire an elite recruiter and developer (need both) we can get back into the playoff mix.
Even if the school won't spend top dollar, there are very capable up and comers, we just have to finally have someone in a position to find them.

After 5 games he can't coach? How is this a fair assessment?

we've been more talented than most of our schedule forever now. the results never change. there are up and comers and we end up with the wrong ones somehow. theyre hit or miss (those up and comers as even UF failed on their last two up and comers), but i dont trust this place to find the right up and comer (day, riley, etc)

The local reporter pool is awful, outside of a couple of young pups. That said, Miami football beat isn't one most local organizations are putting a ton of time into. There's a reason why. The community doesn't hold publications like The Herald and others accountable for crappy coverage, so why should they invest in people who will dig?

That I agree with, which is why I say we need a new athletic department. We need someone who has a history and/or experience with success.

i agree. i think it starts really beyond that (BOT level). we gotta get the real power gone and get a new voice in that room. the president doesnt give a **** and ****, most university presidents dont focus on football. UFs president doesnt give a ****. the AD and bull gators run that ****. his focus is education and research

we need to remove the dimares, the wario lovers, the manny diaz lovers, and so on and so forth, and get one of those tools to find the next great assistant. whoever brought up hiring the UCF ad had a great idea, but hes prolly destined for a bigger program than ours with the job hes done there
