I have friend in NCAA's NLI clearing house.

Took call this morning from very angry, anxiety filled parent (dad).

Wanted to understand process of rescinding son's NLI to Canes. Did not call Miami AD on purpose because wanted an answer "direct from you". Felt mislead about state of program after watching (in-person) Pinstripe Bowl disaster.

1) No, I will not tell you who friend is
2) Friend specifically did not tell me what family (Privacy Act issue)
3) Friend informed dad essentially impossible to break NLI, but there is an appeal process
4) Friend informed dad that, no, the team "looking like ****" is not grounds for an NLI appeal
5) Dad didn't seem happy and wanted to call back when supervisor was available
6) 2 hours later, supervisor reiterated everything friend said
7) Dad seemed resigned to son attending UM, muttered something about attorneys and politely hung up
8) I assure you 100000% my friend in no way would make this up
