Analysis, Thoughts & Appreciation

You clearly have no idea how how things have worked around here up until a few months ago I’d say. When the wheels started turning on this he very much was someone who was brought up repeatedly. Not only to fit in the organization but as HC as well. Remember @MikeCanes, this is the same university that burned more bridges with quality minds across different sports than most can count. It’s the same one that got backhanded by an unqualified Manny Diaz, hired Randy Shannon, and gave Al Golden an extension when he’d proven nothing.

Take what you read and realize the information is just that, information. I can tell you there were plenty of people in JF’s ear where it would have been very easy to settle, like we have with every hire post Butch. Thankfully the athletic department is being retooled to where it didn’t become an option. Not because he’s not a great football kind, because he is, but because he’s not even close to being the best man for the job

Been busy and offsite until later yesterday so did not see that posted by him. I guess I wouldn’t have classified it as a done deal myself but as I mentioned he’s been in the fold, contrary to what the media has stated. He’s not JF’s first choice, or at least wasn’t as of a week ago.

Don't want to misquote anyone so here it is

"Jurich was signed sealed and delivered until all the reports started coming out than we backed away from him. Literally everything else is going according to the plans."

Thank you for this.

Let me ask the following, but if it is beyond what you care to share on a public forum, never mind.
What promises did Manny break?

Most of us only know about the perceived coaching deficiencies with Diaz, but you are obviously alluding to something behind the scenes.
Got into it pretty deep some months back under jp2344. Reader’s digest version is his “offer”, if you would even consider it that, was contingent on having pieces in place around him to guide him through his start, specifically his initial contract. The most well noted was the Zo debacle but there were others less glaring.

Manny overrode all he stated he was willing to submit to in regards to it, which also involved his staff. If it sounds like he would not have complete autonomy in that regard you would be correct. Ironically, as I watched the last few years, I saw those games and even specific plays and wondered if it would have been different if the path laid out would have been followed. Manny refused to put anyone around him who had pedigree and the will to put him down when needed. Watching that Duke game was a perfect ending. Perfect because I watched us refuse to kick to a returner on a 1 or 2 and whatever team for fear of what would happen. To me that summarized the player evaluations as a whole, not only in recruiting but in development as well. It also summed up what unqualified guys had been teaching our kids since that era began.

thank you

Who were the other Head Coaches they reached out to?
I’ll reiterate not one of these contacts I know of was official university business but any and everyone with a pulse would be the best way to describe it. I stepped out of the conversation where Will Healy’s name came up as I was revolted. Nothing against him and I don’t know the guy but that’s the type of coach certainly people were mentioning and reaching out to.

Appreciate it all!!! Was told today that Rad was coming by someone associated with him and other searches. I’ll keep my fingers crossed it gets over the line.
