An actually interesting article on Strong

I'm on the fence with strong because I still can't get the image of him taking a **** on Goldens shoes two years ago out of my mind...but this article sheds some light on his time so far at Texas

For anyone who doesn't want to read the article most interesting part to me was that when strong first got the job at Texas he tried to hire Chad Morris (Texas AD wouldn't pay) and Tom Herman (herman said no thanks because he thought he'd win at OSU that year and be in line for a HC job).

Another strong thread? Really? The guy is making a doo doo the size of Texas all over that program.

Put this in perspective: Al Golden walked into a worse mess at Miami than Strong. Al Golden is considered by me, and by most, as the worst coach we have ever had.

And yet Strong has performed notably worse his first two season than AG even did! Why on EARTH would you even want to discuss this man?
 
If that article taught me anything it's that Herman was quite prescient about his future.

Because he has proven he can take Florida kids and build a bad *** defense good enough to win National titles. He has proven he can take Florida kids and turn a school that was in worse shape than Miami is now and build a bad *** defense good enough to win BCS bowls with and he has proven he can take Florida kids and develop them into NFL talent at a very high success rate. He has also proven that Florida kids love him. It will take multiple top 4 classes to win the title and he is one guy that could be available that can do that.

Butch is also proof how an average game day coach who can recruit and develop SFL kids can create incredible teams that can out talent the country. Butch proved how great Miami talent can make average OCs look great (Coker). Butch also proved how when you go outside of Miami and you have a bad coordinator you cant have winning big 5 conference schedule.
