Their best teams are ALL catholic schools in the BNU. There isn't one public school in NJ that can even play with any of the schools in the BNU. They have resources for whatever they need. Notice that every team from the BNU is playing against an OOS opponent. Some recruit more than others ,e.g., Paramus Catholic lol.

Nobody has talent similar to IMG, nor do they recruit on their level. Though, it's not shocking that IMGs scheduled to play against 3 teams that are in the BNU.

Top programs sell themselves, but don't think that they didn't establish their product by getting their hands dirty. In-fact, most still do. I'm sure all of those kids that played basketball for St. Anthony's and St. Patrick lived around the corner or couldn't get noticed by playing at their local hs.

Basketball yes ... Football absolutely no its the old school prep catholic schools that are loaded thats about it....

And the coaching is light years better up there also, i mean the coaching in s fla might be some of the worst in the country so that isnt saying much at all...

Img just got a kid from jersey

If you meant talent level for the area i agree.. But in no way are those catholic prep schools more talbeted then st thomas for example they just have better coaching

they south florida kids can literally play football 365.. That gives you a distinct advantage if you're getting one day better and I'm sitting in the house for 3/4 months dealing with winter storms and snow and freezing ice.

Spring football: No spring football. Some of the team’s players will be in a 7-on-7 league in June. Summer practice begins Aug. 1.

2015 schedule: Hosts defending 6A Florida champion Miami Central on Aug. 29, then travels to 5A Florida champion American Heritage (Plantation) on Sept. 5 and La Salle (Wyndmoor, Pa.) on Sept. 18.

DeMatha doesn't even have a spring football practice or a game.. Again another advantage South Florida guys have!

A sure sign of DeMatha’s confidence is its schedule, which includes two Florida state champions in Miami Central and American Heritage and Philadelphia Catholic League tough La Salle, in addition to the usual difficult WCAC slate.

“We want to gauge and see where our program is and what better way than this type of schedule,” Brooks said. “With a schedule like this, you can’t listen to outside noise. The only thing we can control is ourselves.”

Teams up north have scrimmages in full pads during the summer. Some are arranged between 2 teams and others are held at certain colleges where multiple HS teams show up with their entire roster to scrimmage against each other. I'm not sure if Dematha participated in any of them, though.

I coached in this one in 2007&2008...Eli Football Camp | High School Team Camp | Yale Bulldogs

There were teams from CT, Mass, NY, RI, etc...When I spoke with some of their coaches they told me that there are other camps that hold those same types of summer scrimmages. I know you don't think that they just show up and play without practicing (their version of spring football).
