Am I wrong for feeling like Richt will be Gruden 2.0?

Don't get me wrong, I think it would be a solid hire (though personally I would prefer Butch) but I'm getting the feeling that this is going to be deja vu. There will be lots of smoke signals, we will get the imminent tweets and tickers from various news sources, only to have it fall through in the end. Something is telling me that Richt is mainly meeting/interviewing with UM out of courtesy and respect for his alma mater.

I believe he was interviewed but will just chose to either take the year off or go to another program. Don't think it will be like the Gruden thing

Like the Gruden situation, I have already seen reports that Mark Richt will accept the Miami job and it will be announced sometime today (this was an article from CBS sports I believe so TIFWIW).

I think he can get just as much money from UVA, deal with less expectations, and have a better area for his family and his religious beliefs.

I know he still wants to coach, but does he still have that fire inside that Miami needs from its next coach? I definitely got that sentiment from Butch and feel like he would hit the ground running if he became HC here once again. I am not sure I can say the same for Richt. I'm not saying he's not a really good coach (issues/concerns not withstanding), but can/will be bring Miami back to greatness?

Gruden is someone that most of the fan base would've liked to have.

I'm not sure this is quite so true with Richt.....

Richt is a quality coach, but I don't think we'd win championships with him.

We would have with Gruden (and we would with Butch)....

I don't know about Mullen or Schiano....

I think Richt passes on miami. Which is fine. Dana would have loved this guy and that's reason enough I don't want him here

If Richt comes, we would have a shot to get the number 1 ranked pocket passer in the country. That'd be a nice start to the situation.

I don't understand all of the "He lost the eye of the tiger" and he would rather go to a retirement home in Charlottesville where he can lose 5 games per year and "be loved" bullchit. You think, after being a HC for about 15 years, he doesn't want to get over the hump and win a national championship? If so, you're nuts. Richt knows UM provides the best opportunity for that and UM seems willing, from what I've been reading, to pay him over $4 million per year to get it done-- same as UGA. I think he takes the job.

If not, it will be funny to see Blake say: "ok, Butch, you can have it, but we're only paying you $1.5 million per year."

I hope you are correct. I'm not a Mark Richt fan. I think he is a good man and a decent coach. However, he does not have the attitude that a U of Miami coach needs. 8 to 10 wins per year is mediocre at a program like Miami. We need a coach that appreciates the wealth of talent thats within a 70 mile radius of the university and expect to win national championships. Richt was given 15 years to bring back a National Championship at Georgia and he failed to produce. 8 - 10 Wins was not acceptable at University of Georgia and it **** well should not be acceptable at the University of Miami.

We Don't Need A Preacher!

We Need The Reaper!

That is a bunch of baloney. Mark Richt is a loser. if Miami was his best chance to win, he would have came sooner not after getting fired for underachieving at University of Georgia.
