Where are those two teams record-wise and/or ranking-wise today (IU is 10-0, Canes 7-2)?

Probably about the same. Mendoza is playing in a more QB friendly offense. He wouldn't have the same opportunities here. We'd be griping about the same exact things with the playcalling. Cam was just a transcendent QB that Mario allowed Dawson to open it up, but I'm not sure he's doing that with any other QB.

If Mendoza was here I think we'd be better but the gap between him and Beck would be much, much smaller than the gap between Mendoza and Cam. I don't know how having Mendoza helps you beat SMU when the receivers are being thrown the ball and dropping it for INTs and you're committing 100 yards in penalties. Indiana almost lost to 3-6 Penn State with 21 yards in penalties and 1 turnover. Mendoza's stat line was 19/30 218 yards 1 TD and 1 INT.

So maybe Miami is 8-1 instead of 7-2? If you want to live in a fantasy world, imagine if we had Cam this year. We'd be 2019 LSU. We were that close to having an argument about the greatest season in Miami football history.

Mendoza has been good but his statistics have been skewed by his game against Michigan state, when he went 25/26 and over 300 yards and 4 touchdowns. His completion percentage has been ess than 70% and he only has 200 more yards than Beck. Interceptions is a big difference.

Didn't want Mendoza. Thought he was too limited physically and would be a dreaded return to our pre-Cam days of excruciatingly mediocre QB play

Liked the Beck pick-up and thought he'd been limited by UGA's mediocre post-Brock Bowers receiving talent (while conveniently looking past CB's penchant for ill-advised throws)

You gotta consider that the giant asteroid that near earth obviously would have hit earth in this universe (but we'd be undefeated before the ice age happened)
