Last I heard was Zo, Dan, and Mario were going to sit down and talk and see if there's a place for him and if there is, what that role is going to be.

Could be in the Administrative side of things over football or could be Director of Football Ops and Personnel role - it's all speculation right now. Gotta make his job worth his while because he doesn't want to have a meaningless role and he's also expensive to hire.

Personnel guys and recruiting directors typically pull in the $100k range - Zo would pull at least $350k maybe up to $500k

This. If I’m betting I’d say he’s in a role.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he really wasn’t making that much with Seattle. His title is Senior executive advisor to the GM.

Could be a temporary role (1-2 years) and pay may be relatively low.

Possible. He also wants out of the NFL and wants to help Miami in whatever role they need him, but he's not the kind of guy to just have a role and it not mean anything. He's going to have to have meaningful input and be taken seriously.

I have no inside information.

My gut tells me he won’t have a formal role.

I think Mario (and Rad) will feel this adds administrative complications without any real benefit And they have too much respect for Zo to give him just a show/PR position.

Maybe he fulfills some role as an outside consultant, but I think that’s a super longshot.

Again, just my opinion without any inside information, I absolutely don’t see it. I just don’t think alpha leaders operate in a fashion where he would have a role.

Yeah, this is where I'm at, especially considering the salary he would command. His strength is player personnel at the professional level. Mario I'm sure would employ a group of staffers whose sole role is to scout players. I guess Zo could head up this department but it seems like a poor use of his skill set. Maybe Zo could be some sort of liaison b/w Mario and Rad to buffer Mario a bit from that process but again, not sure that warrants filling that role with Zo.

Didn't Dan Lambert offer to pay Zo's salary?

I’ve heard this mentioned before. I personally just don’t see it. To me, it seems to just add a layer of bureaucracy and unnecessary communication barriers.

I agree with your post nonetheless, I’m just not picturing this role, as described, as being something that would be implemented because I can’t really crystallize the actual value of such a role.

He is on the stadium committee Ruiz formed. It would be good to have him evaluate the recruits and the portal players. Thats another skilled talent evaluator eyes. But seems he has connnections and options
