To allow for unlimited practice time instead of being subject to the limits once school is in session. Need approval from the academics. Not sure if it was approved

Not approving that would be such an unserious move
There are other things to consider. In order to keep commencement and other things on schedule, you'd have to remove some reading days or something. The fact that this is a rule is a joke, the fact that the academic calendar(Which isn't uniform across the country) can be used to provide an advantage to certain schools is weird as F.

Our last couple of presidents probably would have canceled this game as to not interfere with orientations
Forest from the trees. Spend money and make money. The brand just got a massive B12 booster this year and last. Getting $36m from this run hopefully offsets most costs and gives them comfort for future spending. We also are well positioned for 2029 expansion when media rights could jump by 30-50m with the streaming companies pushing for access.

I petition to add an American flag react emoji for times like this

Couldn’t they all wait to register next week? How is it any different from Fall?

Outside of just the direct dollar amount from the payouts, I’ll be very curious to see what application numbers look like after this run.

I’ve heard they are up. While that is nice and helps allow them to drive up the actual revenue per student, I have to imagine the UHealth could see the bigger benefit.

Oh, not debating that. I just think sometimes people don’t realize the impact a great football program can have on things across the board outside of just CFP payouts, ticket sales, etc.
