All we need is a miracle...

The worst part of being a Cane fan is sitting around prognosticating about whether the Titanic will sink when we absolutely know it will sink because its been listing in the water for quite a while. And its sad to watch the fans on CIS post speculation after speculation. The U administration has made us a pitiable lot. Nothing is going to change. They will not find the "right" coach because they are not looking for the "right" coach as they have proven over and over and over again. We should say what we want plainly and that is some kind of miracle cause even if the fans stop coming and they fire the latest pretender they have figured us all out they know a new name will hold us in check for at least two maybe three years until we realize we have been tricked yet again. Carry on because hope springs eternal

Reading these old threads I realize way fewer fans were snowed by the Diaz hire than I had thought. Diaz’s failure could not have been more obvious than if Randy Shannon put on a blond wig calling himself Shanndy Rannon.
The admins have no clue, but here’s the kicker. THEY NEVER DID. The same guy who hired Butch also hired Coker and Shannon.

They rode the wave of success brought on by local players being an untapped resource. Guess what? That source is tapped.

The athletic department needs to understand that tentative steps don't work. You aren't going to piece together a title contender. Keep pursuing young brilliant coaches. Use a system. Nobody above 40.

Once you find him, you'll know. It could be 25+ years

Same thing with quarterbacks. Recruit and sign far more than the typical number. Your 5th guy might be the gem, like Pete Carroll. Who cares if it means you are shy elsewhere? That's happening already.

We not rebounding bruh it's over fan....we just here to support each other's misery and that's about it. Some of us here now cause we know people.... or we chop it up with some and we also here for the lulz.

Most of us know it's over some just in denial

Hiring a respected person to run football and getting an OC who can put up more than 30 points would at least field a watchable product.

As it stands, unless a home run OC comes in, I might just as well go out side for a walk on Saturday afternoons.

Canes football has already sunk. This team is what it is, and will never be what it once was.

All we really have any right to hope for is that we get a year like 2017 every now and then... get lucky and win some games we didn’t expect to, and find ourselves in the top 10 for a week or 2.

This just isn’t a championship organization and nothing will change that.

Happy new year

There are absolutely no legitimate excuses for us not being a top 10-15 team year after year after year if our higher ups gave a rats ***. With an entire makeover, we could compete for Nattys again. The sucky thing is how far we are from this. But. . . in spite of this, we could be relevant again in 2-3 years with the right clean the house changes. I'm so fvickin tired of losing to these ****+y teams we play.

Maybe we need to hire a woman head football coach. I think someone that never played the game knows exactly how to build a championship team. We need more estrogen in male sports.

Correct. Think about this. We finish top 25 if we beat fiu, duke, and gt. Thats insane to lose to those 3 teams.

I got excited when you said here’s the kicker....

I’m convinced the majority of college players are children and when the play isn’t to them or there liking their tender feelings are hurt.

It’s not rocket science, being on the field was all I needed NEVER concerned about the play called just that I got my orders and executed the play till a hair after the whistle blew , that was my job on O, D and special teams.

It was good enough to draw offers from the the Big 3 in Florida in the 70’s on a team that won only (2) games in 3 years .

Loved the Friday night lights with opportunity to maul the all Dade county and All State studs GOD it was awesome with scouts in the stands watching them get TRASHED by. Freshman.

So here it is in a nut shell

You train like no other 24-7 no off season then you’ll preform like no other NEVER RELY ON OTHERS like team politics or fan tears

BEAT YOUR MAN

TEARS ARE FOR “ GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS ( EMOTIONAL) PLAYERS

I am trying to maintain reality in all of this. We should be a top 10 - 15 program. Our brand is too strong not to. Look at commercials on TV. When there are a bunch of mascots huddling around for something, Sebastian is Always present. We need to be able to demonstrate competency. I feel like our window is closing but we still have relevance in this landscape. My hope is that we can right the ship enough to get back to relative success (this team is so far away from a Natty that it would be a joke to expect one) and get a shot here and there when the pieces line up. Seems like the administration doesn’t care if Sebastian fades away like in Back to the Future. That is my vision as a fan of the current state of the program. Hope!

Dude, the local players were always tapped. It was Lou Saban and then Howard who started the process of keeping kids home. What Miami has lacked is competent coaching.

We have very few players whom have the heart to withstand battle the first sign of push back they droop and become wimps .

No man can tell what’s in a CHILDS HEART only in battle, we we now know and battle made it clear .

The players went through the motions and the leader was QB JW
