I was told we didn't have the talent to compete with teams like Duke and MTSU. So, that was a lie?
Pretty sure no one told you Miami didn't have the talent to "compete" with those 2 teams. Miami did compete and lost. If you are touting 2 1st teamers, 1 being the punter and 1 second teamer as some justification that Miami has talent well I can't really help you.

I'm just saying, we heard all year long about our lack of talent, but it was BS. Talented enough to beat Clemson? No. Talented enough to beat practically everyone else on our schedule minus maybe FSU? Absolutely.

Well, Duke did have:
1 first team OT
1 second team DT
1 third team WR
1 third team S
And 6 dudes listed honorable mention (including their QB).

Seems like a close call to me
And the reason they had that many is because their coaches did a better job of making their players look good. The same cannot be said about Miami.

Imagine someone digging up Spencer Rattler threads…(talent to beat Clemson)

This roster is completely void of talent. Some good players, yes. the roster is garbage overall and was talented enough to win 5 games. Not talented enough to "practically" beat everyone on the schedule.

Bull crap. We almost beat TAM, and probably would have if not for a muffed punt. We were close to beating UNC, so there was enough talent there. We lost to some extremely average teams. The difference is those teams had better coaching. How can any of you look at our O and say, "Yeah, we don't have the talent to play with Duke and MTSU." Seriously? We should have won those games, but our coaches are doing a horrible job at putting the players in position to make plays and win games. These same dudes looked better last year. Explain to me how they look so much worse this year.

Do I think we need more talent? Absolutely. Did we need more talent to beat MTSU and Duke? GTFOH. That's on the coaches and their putrid schemes.

Do you think our staff did a good job of putting our players in position to make plays?

I think you walked into a thread celebrating 10 players on achieving ACC honors and proceeded to facetiously comment sarcastically on our supposed lack of talent (notwithstanding 10 selections). I pointed out we had the same number and comparable quality of selections as the Duke team you cited in your post. You then claimed Duke had that many ACC selections because their coaches maximized talent (and implying Miami only had 10 selections because our coaches underutilized our talent).

So do ACC selections demonstrate a level of talent on the roster, or coaches putting their players in position to succeed? Or are you suggesting when Duke has (incredibly) 10 All ACC selections it's because of great coaching, but when Miami has (only) 10 All ACC selections it's because our coaches suck?
