I’m going to block you after this. I’m a Canes fan and an alum. You made a dumb comment because you’re angry and you directed that at me for literally no reason. If we were face to face and you did that to me, you would be picking yourself up off the ground. I did nothing to deserve this disrespect, but since I’m getting it, I’ll earn it now.

I told you from the rip I’m not looking for an argument. I posted data. The data shows good teams defend the run well. Period. Irrefutable. You didn’t like that because you obviously want to whine and complain about our pass defense more. I haven’t said a word about the pass defense. Not one. Why? Because it stunk and it’s been discussed ad nauseum. You don’t get to make a dumb comment, react “snarky” to borrow your term, then gaslight me by calling me snarky. No sir.

If you don’t like that we have a stop the run first mantra on defense, that’s fine. I don’t agree, but that’s fine. What you don’t get to do is ask a question specifically about the run defense, get an answer, then throw out hyperbole attached to some half baked transitive property about the passing defense. I also don’t respond to demands like “now post the passing numbers.” You post them. Again, I haven’t said a word about the passing game. I’m not your servant.

Except we fire zone, bring safeties, roll to a man look on deep verticals. etc. Country cover 3 would be rush 4 and just drop everything. And we tend to mostly only spot drop when not blitzing. Rolling the safety down where he can blitz or defend the flats etc isnt a country cover 3 scheme. Its definitely more sophisticated than middle school, which is country cover 3

I appreciate we have some real football talk going on here. Interestingly when I watch us I feel we spot drop more than anything else. The fire zones it’s hard to tell without the all 22 to personally watch but they certainly aren’t pinched to take away the short throw. You very well may be more right than I am.

Would love to see more match principles. If we try now then fire whoever teaches it.
I feel like last year we saw a ton of 3 but also not only ran man down the stretch but split coverages too

Went to a 3-man rush on 3rd down in the redzon I think. Any competent QB can sit back there and find someone with time. Safeties in the endzone. They throw underneath for an easy score.

Poyser could have reacted quicker but that was an elite throw to a 6'6 TE
