alex collins vs Duke johnson

He had turf toe and that’s why we he couldn’t produce anything? It had nothing to do with the fact that the K-St, FSU, UNC and FSU defenses were good, it was turf toe? It’s funny that the weeks between those games he looked just fine, ripped off long runs, hmmm, guess it felt better those weeks? lol

You guys are fools if you don’t realize that as great as Duke is this team/running game/backs are not yet good enough to produce against the better Ds’ To win titles this will have to improve, but get mad, I really could care less

Actually, he had a fairly rough outing against NCSU as well...but as you big up Collins, you are operating with the understanding that everytime he saw Miramar, Jermaine Grace and company shut him down right? So the same things that you are saying about Duke, could be said about Collins, except...no team EVER shut down the Duke in High School.

5 star stud Alex Collins had a career night vs Miramar...career low that is, rushing 4 a whopping 13 yards on 9 carries before leaving the game with a wrist injury. Now Jermaine No-Name Grace of Miramar on the other hand finished with a team leading 8 tackles. Not bad for an average 3 star linebacker.

I never big upped Collins bro

BTW, Sony isn't the best RB in his own class

Yep, some people have that opinion. Personally I think he is. I expect him to have a MONSTER Sr season and be the #1 rb in the nation.

He'll have a monster Senior Season as well and regardless of where Sony is ranked, he isn't better than him.

Ok bro, you showed me, lmao. I stated in another thread Cooks film as as good as I've ever seen, still prefer Sony, think he was playing at less than 100% last season and think he wil be a Cane, not so sure about Cook. Thanks for your input though.

That NO's kid is a beast, right now him and Sony have the same ranking on several sites, wouldn't say he has NO shot. I'll pull for Sony, he's more likely to be a Cane.

It's cool bro...I was just semi-trolling you with the last two posts lol. I do like Dalvin better than Sony, but it's close as all **** and an argument can be made for Sony being better.

I do doubt he'll be #1 in the nation next year because of this kid

and to the guy who said I disrespected Duke, you couldn't be more wrong, and I assure there are people with more SoFla HS fb knowledge than you and I that think Sony is something special as well.

Sony is very special and I've seen him play since lil league back with the SFL Canes, but he's not better than Frank or Duke imo. He obviously still has time to make an argument for himself but I'm going to need him to get his team farther than the second rd of the playoffs. That's what makes Duke so special kid put his team on his back and made them state champs. It's that intangible that rivals/scout/espn/247 can't measure. If Sony is going to be the best player on the field then he needs to start being the best player on the field. It's why Pete changed his tune on the "bionic man" and has made him his new #1 player in SFL. SFL will always have great athletes so being bigger, stronger, faster doesn't make you a legend.

This dude posts good ****. I got my eye on you.

Sony was a legend as soon as he led broward in rushing as an 8th grader. He did not have the greatest year last year, but you know a guy has talent when you can say that and he averages 10 yards a carry. Next season I think he explodes, he should be 100% in his mind and physically, hopefully people moving him down motivaes him even more.

Point blank Duke is a beast and what you call a true Cane. Duke knows he's one of the best but the kid is so humble that he doesn't try to take all the lime light from the team. Love his attitude..

that doesn't make him a legend. To be a legend you have to leave a legacy something people can point to and say man I saw that **** it was was one of the greatest things I ever saw. Frank played on a crappy team his senior year (I don't even remember if they had a winning record) but what kid was doing was legendary from the get go when he opened my Cobra's mouth and took a dump down their throat and he did that all season long back when 6A was grown man football. Even in his teams losses you left the games talking about Frank. Legend! Forgetting everything Duke his SR year just what he did against GC and then the next week against Palmetto oh my god. that will be forever talked about by SFL HS heads for years. Legend!

What Sony did as a freshman was bad *** not legendary. Lets not forget before the reclassifications a couple years ago Sony was playing against the poor competition most games. Nothing against him but it is what it is. Heck what would you even classify as Sony's best game? to me it was the Chaminade game his soph year. He looked like a man against boys in that game, but that was a mid season game that most people don't even remember. No legend in that. People will talk about Cook being the best player on the field against BTW in a game filled with D1 and possible future NFL players. Naples coaches/players/parents will always remember tasting a State championship birth only to have the "bionic man" take it from them. **** in the loss to Jackson last month not only did he not look like the best player on the field (Flowers did) he didn't even look like the best player on his team (Isaiah did). Sorry but if your going to be a legend that junk there is a no no. AT the end of the game win or lose people should leave like man that lil dude "put his hhhearrrt in that **** dog" (love E Reed).

Like I said before he has another year to take his game to the next level but he's not there imvo. Been watching the kid since lil league, feel in love with him when he was ****ting all over the FBU game and repping the U like crazy. I'm not a fan of all this "making a business decision" crap he's doing now and would've preferred him to just love this U no matter what like Duke did, but whatever it's his life/his choice and as a man I respect that. However as much as I want him in O&G I'll keep it real too kid is as talented as they come, but he needs to start having that Chaminade game on the weekly and more importantly in the playoffs to start getting called a legend in my book atleast.

the Jackson game was disappointing, by those standards I would say he in not a legend. I just know the world was a buzz when he led the county in rushing at 14. Don't give up on him, he's still got another year of HS.

Great post. This pretty much sums up the whispers around SoFla football about Sony bouncing his runs outside. That is both a literal concern and a metaphorical one. Like I said, I've heard others say "well, it's precautionary and the injury and he has to keep his bright future in mind." Fine. But, let's remember what Yogi said about baseball (which often applies to RBs who need to run a certain way): mentality is 90% of this game; the other 50% is physical. Let's see, in action, Sony use that ridiculous talent to cut the ball hard upfield, get those 5-6 extra yards after contact, etc.

No sir I'll never give up beleiving in these kids. I wish all of them even the ones we don't talk about go out there an tear it up. Two things I hope for with Sony is

1) Like Lu said I need Sony to stop just being more physically talented and faster than the kids he's playing against and just start running with bad intentions (you can only protect yourself for so long before you hurt yourself doing that). Some of his best runs a few years ago were the shorter ones.
2) I need him to start loving and reppin this O&G again like he was doing a few years ago lol. Maybe Miami can get a song on the next mix tape.

Those were 2 great posts.

All I know about Randy Johnson is that he had perhaps the best individual season of any Hurricane since Willis McHeisman in 2002- as a true freshman.

Just let that sink in for a moment

The guy is special in a lot of ways

And I firmly believe the best is yet to come from #8

We got about 28 more games of Duke and then he's outta here and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it

"Faulk ran a 4.28 forty-yard dash time at the combine and measured 5'10 and 207 pounds. On March 31, 1994, Faulk ran a 4.35 forty-yard time at the San Diego State Pro Day."

^^^^^^^^
that helped too

Are you implying that Duke is slow? lol

Duke ran a 4.39 as a freshman...He'll probably be running a mid 4.3, if not faster by the time he's ready for the combine.

Oops. So what happened to that 4.39 speed? I'll give you one guess.
