We all watch sports on TV and are FORCED to see those State Farm commercials , those set me off big time. I don't know if many of you are in Fla but there are thousands of tarps still on roofs from Irma what a shame for people to suffer like this Heaven knows what's inside there houses with drywall .

I've had State Farm for for 36 years no claims plus in good standing my wife every quarter would drive to SF office on Coral Way and pay in person.

My attorney said this means nothing to SF your supposed to do it SF is a bank to make money and NOT to pay out claims and I will probably have to settle for 40-45 % less them my claim plus then next year I'll be canceled from SF.

Every hearing ( just lawyer talk ) with Judge adds 90 days of till next hearing sad.

State Farm also did this the parents of one of the actors from the Wire, after Hurricane Katrina

They were State Farm customers for over 50 years, never having been late on a payment. They lost their home and everything else, and State Farm refused to pay. They gave them $137.00 to pay for a tool shed, and that’s it.

Spike Lee did a documentary on Katrina and one part talked about the crooked insurance industry

Insurance is the only legal Ponzi scheme in America. Take your money 💴 on a promise to take care of you. HMMMMMM!!🤢🤮

Government does it too, lol. SS, Medicare, Medicare part D, SS disability is all a Ponzi scheme too, the young people will never get what this generation gets now. Last ones in line will get very little. All of them are in the negative now, day of reckoning coming in 10 years or so. CEO's of those insurance companies don't miss their million dollar checks every week.

I have made several claims with State Farm and I was always paid what I deserved and promptly. I hate to say it but, often insureds do not view their losses rationally. "My 1998 K-car was going to be a priceless antique-give me $50,000!" "My 35 year old roof had 20 years left." That stuff happens all the time. Are some claims improperly delayed, sure. But, that is why a complaint to the DOI will get things moving-as a poster said above.

Insurance companies have entire divisions stood up to avoid paying large claims

Luckily haven't filed a claim but I'm certain if a category 5 came through these local insurance companies would go bankrupt (peoples trust, citizens, universal) and not pay a dime.

Why you don't see the big name insurance companies down here in SoFla. Too much risk.

I'm not sure but,you cannot sell auto insurance unless you sell home insurance in Florida , auto I think is gravy homeowners is a loss to everyone. I figure once house is paid 4-5 more years I'll no longer purchase homeowners and I'll bank the same payment in a CD or something instead pretty much everyone I talk to who owns there home is doing it.

I just want to get roof done, drywall, and some other things to get back to normal then rush to pay off house and in 5-7 years I'm cashing out retiring and never have a house again.
