Alabama players just can't cut it in the NFL.

Basically Saban gets every bit of development out his players. Once they get to the league that are tapped out for development. Miami coaches get a smidgen of a players development and once they get to the league they blow up. Its called being developed by a coach or a corch.

It's not that they don't cut it, they are just usually not as good as some of the experts predict. They are still good players just some are not so much NFL elite good. It's more of drafting a defensive player who is on a great defense surrounded by great players, someone like that gets hidden as being really good when the fact is that he just looked good around all the talent with him, he had the luxury of being able to make a mistake and it not being seen on film. These are still great players, that's why most of them get drafted and signed to play in the NFL but many of them do get seen as bigger then they really are with all the help around them. USC had the same thing when Pete Carroll was there. You really have to heavily evaluate players who are on great defense/offenses.

Did this happen to our players when we were on top? If so, was it to the degree it's happening to Alabama?

Two things:

- steroids
- teaching to a system

Saban is an elite teacher of his defense. His kids learn to play it really well. But they are reliant on him and his calls, and don't do well transitioning to new systems. For example, Mark Barron, who cannot play a deep half for his life.

The old Miami teams played a defense that depended less on moving parts and schemes, and more on fast flowing to the ball based on a simple set of rules. Players can then learn to identify offenses and via instincts, instead of focusing on the varied rules and movements that add up to make it all work.

Saban is a beast, but his system doesn't help kids in the NFL.

Coop is a Miami player wearing a different uniform

No he's not. He's a psussy that ran off to SEC land.

fvck him.

**** that ran off to a powerhouse instead of playing for al golden? yeah.....what a ******....

He's a psussy. Duke Johnson sucked it up and repped 305.

Fvck Cooper in his bootyhole.
So did Howard and now he is watching his NFL dreams go down the drain and hearing his coaching basically saying its all his fault. They aren't ***** they just want to play in the NFL .

I think the biggest shock is how bad their dbs are. That's bamas best position year in year out. And I can't remember a good db from there in a while. And no one mentioned how bad Richardson looked last season. He's playing mediocre this season and he's playing a lot better.

Right before Dee Millner got injured for the season (again) he was getting his a$$ toasted week to week too...I agree the play of their DBs has been surprising.

RBs not so much. ****, who couldnt run through some of those holes? Lacy is solid but he wasnt as good as that NC game made him look. Some of those holes were down right embarassing if you were the Def Coordinator of ND.

I though Julio was going to be a beast. He has been inconsistant. Everyone else is pretty much average.

Off the top of my head Mosely, Gilberry, Fluker, and Upshaw seem to be doing fine. I wouldn't say Bama players can't cut it.

ups haw sucks. you do know he's a former 1st rounder who has severely underperformed. and i have know idea who gilberry is

Upshaw was a 2nd round pick. He doesn't suck, but he's not what people thought he would be.

what are you smoking? the guy was brought in to be a rush end. how many sacks or tackles for a loss does that guy have? i don't even think he starts and your 2nd rounder should be starter material. i think people think of his college days and some video of him flipping a car and that inflates their idea of him as a current nfl player. i call him a bust.

If I had a choice, I would much rather have Miami players bomb in the NFL if it meant being in the NC picture year in and year out.

Exactly. who cares about their success or lack thereof in the NFL? I care about winning national titles. Their allegedly poor NFL production does not make me feel any better about the horrific product we've put on the field for the last decade.
