I’ve started digging into Bama and listening and reading updates on their camp.

In addition to Bryce Young being a first time starter, I also think we get the benefit on Bama incorporating a new coordinator. I’m curious what @romancane can share regarding Bill O’Brien’s philosophies are as a play caller.

Between O’Brien’s background and their likely starters on offense, I expect an offense that leans more pro style than spread. Supposedly they’ve got a couple TEs they like, and Young has pretty consistently being going their way.

New coordinator.

New RB coach.

New TE coach.

New OL coach.

New QB.

New RB.

2 new WRs.

3 new OL.

There are going to be growing pains. There *HAS* to be. If they just come out and roll us up on offense, I'm going to be really disappointed.

Remember, Sark is an EXCELLENT offensive mind. He may have been a rampant drunk in his earlier days, but the dude can call some offense. Also last year was Year 2 with him. This year is ALL NEW DUDES. Literally everywhere. BOB hasn't coached in college since 2013.

Hes pro set all day WHICH IS A HORRIBLE TREND FOR US... **** be run heavy and our front 7 is suspect especially in lb corps. Hopefully manny switches up our run blitzes for this game & leans towards stacking the box and playing bump in the back end. Its our only shot. So lets hope the secondary can hold their own(which i think we can so long as we keeps a deep free and make them pay when they work the soft spots in the zone) te,backs in the flats etc

Sark made their ship sail last year. Interested to see how much Tejas improves if he's calling the plays.

Sarkisian with the Falcons wasnt that great either. O'Brien has all the talent in the world to work with and I have seen what he can do, I wont underestimate him.
With bama he should be ok, but his route concepts and scheme is meh. Sarkisian is on a far different level. Dude was running stuff last year even smart football guys were like “ wtf”

Agreed, as long as he is not given GM powers and dealing players like Hopkins and giving the Dolphins 2 first rounders for practically nothing, he is a pretty decent coach at times.
