Alabama fan Alabamying...

Notre Dame is a really good crowd.
IMO, which will be shot down on CIS, the Midwest fans are generally different from the fans in most SEC schools. I grew up in Michigan and there is great passion for the Wolverines, and hatred of all things OSU. But growing up having gone to a number of those rivalry games, I never saw behavior like bottle throwing at players and racially derogatory comments.

From a bucket list standpoint on our current schedule, ND is the only one I would recommend.
Notre Dame was the only game I've seen and it was vs Pitt about 3 years ago.

The tradition and all that was great.

My wife got me this gift as a dream to see them play and it happens to be the year of all years for this rivalry.

I'll be reaching out to the board later for any tailgating etc.

Which part do you disagree with in my comment?
That the crowd is all white? That is plain to see to anyone who watched those games.

That the N word was liberally used? Have you been around drunk white people at a football game in the Deep South?
Ask anyone who went to the '92/'93 Sugar Bowl. Was basically a klan rally.

I was at OU/Texas this weekend. So a few on the ground observations.

I knew the cotton bowl was on the TX State fair grounds, I did not know that an active *** fair is going on DURING the game. No real tailgating, you tailgate at the fair. I was eating a corn dog and fried dough bidding on heifers in the shadow of the stadium 30 min before kickoff lol, your game ticket gets you into fair because there is no way to not get to the stadium without going through the fair. So, picture any fair you have been to, lots of diversity, and thats how it was on the fair side. They said over 300k people were there that day but obviously the stadium fits 90k plus so you have 2x that just outside the stadium. Most people (not all) IN the stadium were white, that is obvious but there was some diversity and I didnt see any racist behavior during the game (I ended up sitting on OU side).

As far as making derogatory comments? yeah that unfortunately happened outside the stadium and just in general around the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Is Georgia really crying about this? So soft
Don't see anyone "crying". What was soft was the *****-a$$ grabbing a helmet, pushing a player and talking ****. Something I can almost guarantee he wouldn't have done if he was able to stand face-to-face with that player.

Have you been to a StatePenn home game?
Attend one and tell them you're from Miami and/or a Cane.
Or how many black folks will you find at a Boston RedSox aside from the ones on the field of play.
There is a reason but it's been a few years so perhaps things have changed.
Not disagreeing with your observations at all, I just don't think it is just the south.
Definitely not just the South.

Those WVU hill folk are a breed apart. They took pride in being a notoriously hostile and violent stadium environment through the 90s. I'm told they've cleaned it up a lot over the last 25 years, but I'd never walk into that stadium as an opposing fan.
I came on here specifically to say that 90s West Virginia fans were in a league or their own as Americans sports fans go.

It's a drop in the bucket compares to my Argentina gamedays, of course. But it bears mentioning.

Yes I have, both of my kids went to an SEC school. I've attended games in Gainesville, Athens, Auburn, Clemson and Tally and I've never heard that word uttered by anyone at a football game. There are idiots all over the place who say and do plenty of stupid stuff, but to claim that the N word is flying around stadiums in the South is just ridiculous, it's just not true. I grew up going to games at the OB, I loved it, but I've never seen more despicable behavior by fans than I've seen at some of those games.

Good to read this. And it sounds like you had a good time.
