Alabama ain’t got no money?

I believe him.

They used to win because they were one of the few teams allowed to pay people.

Now everyone can pay players that money doesn't stretch as far.
Funny how the playing field got leveled really quick when NIL came around and Bama and some chosen SEC teams weren’t the only ones allowed to pay.

Well let's see. Alabama has "no money", Saban isn't there anymore and Mark Emmert retired as their guardian angel and NIL has become legal. Kind of ironic how these events happened in a short period of time leading to their current state.

On a side note, and I know it won't happen but just suppose my beloved ULM Warhawks keep it close for a 1/2 to 3 quarters on Saturday. They would declare martial law in the state of Alabama.

Lol remember ULM did Saban his first year there before he went ham paying players. I was still at Grambling at the time too. Stopped at the Loves in Monroe some months ago, first time back that way since I graduated.

One such player whose family member was helped played Saturday and was one of the only ones that looked like he cared to be there. Props to the player just wish he came here.
Yeah Young ran hard. He would have been perfect for our system. Power back with some speed. Shout out to his pops though.

In the NIL era, why should coaches make $10mm and the top QBs make $3mm? If that's the true market for QBs, then coaches are way overpaid.

Allocate that money towards talent. Those salaries made sense when the coaches accumulated their players based on recruiting skill and salesmanship. That's much less the case.

The NFL isn't a free market with a salary cap, but the top QBs make something like 6x the top coaches. With no salary cap and essentially one year contracts, it should be more of an imbalance in college.

Schools couldn’t legally pay players, so they spent silly money on coaching salaries & ridiculous facilities. Things are changing a bit. Players realize they’d rather pocket the money than be impressed by an over-the-top building. Will be curious to see if top player deals eventually approach what head coaches earn. Clearly, some players already earn more than position coaches and even coordinators.

What was funny about that game is that for two years the score was on a billboard that read ULM 21 Alabama 14. You would have thought ULM won the CFP title🤣

Not that he's our family but I was shocked to see Nevin Shapiro at the game in box seats with his squad

You’d think he would have been trespassed from UM events, also how the **** is no one head hunting this man? He scammed millions out of high profile folks someone’s gotta be looking for him and he ain’t hiding 🤣
Even on his podcast you still have a lot of former players ******* with him. I did not know he still had clout like that still. Maybe the school isn't so uptight anymore but then I was on Brad Kaaya's TikTok and someone asked him why he isn't on the sidelines as a former player and he said he wasn't allowed. Straight up shocked me. I have no idea what's going on anymore.

People still gloss over the fact that Saban is a coward. Whenever situations are not working in his perfect little world, he dips. Look what he did with the Dolphins. Realized he couldn't manipulate a bunch of grown *** men making millions like he did at LSU so he crashed out and quit. Then as soon as NIL becomes legit and he can no longer have dominion over paying players anymore, he "retires". Now he's just an NCAA mouthpiece catching rides to Washington to complain about capitalism for college players. Pretty ironic huh?

College football is finally healing. It was already falling apart during Saban's last years but no more Bama funk stinking up the playoffs.

Yeah, I saw former players on Shapiro’s podcast.

I was thinking, “Are you kidding me?”.

If I were in Miami administration, I would immediately ban any former player appearing on the Shapiro podcast. The ***** is a felon and the NCAA bull**** he put Miami through is inexcusable.

He’s such a crybaby. Nobody is even at $30 million for a roster.

Will also never not be funny when these teams who got away with paying players illegally complain about it being legal now. Cope and seethe.
They had fifteen years of a window of being able to do this. Now everyone has the same opportunity.

This is in poor taste. Bama has plenty of $$ & I know this unequivocally from two clients grandchildren attending there.

The problem is Bama is not monopolizing & hoarding all the talent, & now they r trying to excuse why they’ve been struggling. Well, here’s a news flash:

From 2019 (advent of the transfer portal) - present Bama’s classes have been:

1. #1 (2019)
2. #2 (2020)
3. #1 (2021)
Post NIL ERA:
4. #2 (2022)
5. #1 (2023)
6. #2 (2024)
7. #4 (2025)

What the fck is AJ McCarron talking about? In the past two seasons, they’ve lost to:
Vanderbilt (unranked)
Oklahoma (unranked)
Michigan (unranked)
FSU (unranked)

& none have recruited remotely on the level of Bama!! They r not losing to UGA, Oregon, O$U, Miami (since we’re in everyone’s mouth like a prime Jack Napier), etc. They r losing to teams that went 7-6, 6-7, 8-5, & 2-10, respectively, last season.

When I saw Bama play against FSU, I saw half hearted effort on defense that included poor angles & missed tackles. Also one thing about DeBoers offense, u have to be accurate; unfortunately for him, the two QBs he inherited (Milroe, Coker) have displayed accuracy issues even during Saban’s tenure, so that part of his scheme is moot.

It’s OK if Bama is having a down turn (although I do think they will turn it around), but shame on AJ & their toothless fan base trying to blame NIL when they were funneling $$ via bags & cars for yrs! AND THEY STILL HAVE A PLETHORA OF TALENT COMPARED TO THE REST OF CFB!
