Bobby Bowden's son was their offensive coordinator. The worst year FSU had over the last 30. Bowden just could not fire his son and it was his downfall (not to mention he was 100 years old).

Nepotism at its finest.

Difference so far is Bobby did eventually replace his son at OC with Jimbo

But it was too late by then, and Bobby had used up all his goodwill at FSU by continuing to employ his ****** son.

Same will happen with Golden. I admire loyalty, to not to the detriment of everyone else in a program.

This.

I'm done with Golden unless he fires Dorito. I want Dorito gone now.

Yup great character in the man... But his **** poor results would have gotten him canned last year and surely this year

Didnt the FSU alum get Bowdens son a HC job somewhere to get rid of him

The FSU booster club agreed to pay him (Jeff) $107,000 per year from 2007-2012 if he agreed to "step down." That was on top of whatever he made as WR coach at North Alabama under Terry Bowden and now as WR coach at Akron.

Coach D, Swasey and Kehoe will be gone this off season. I think you will see some other changes on the D side of the ball. I honestly think Al, with the NCAA debacle behind him will shift into CEO mode and do the right thing.

Why should Kehoe be made a scapegoat yet again? The OL has been fine this year despite an injury riddled star RB & a bafoon QB who refuses to checkdown.
We haven't given up many sacks this year but when we do it's usually a coverage sack or morris.

You can cry about short yardage stuff... but that's on Coley & our philosophy of being obsessed with stretch read runs (which is retarded)

Why Swasey now too? lol the guy has future hall of famers coming back every off season to get right, why does he have to go?

Aaaaaand there's the difference between this and our situation. lol

The OL has sucked, completely sucked, way more often than not.

Kehoe is doing a superb job this season

It's not his fault morris has zero pocket presence and we have a safety playing RB now

Just a guess. I think now that he can recruit without distractions he's going to move forward with more urgency. I believe he is serious in wanting to pull this program up and his own reputation with it. No way Coach D survives last night. He will find another gig quietly assisted by his buddy.

The OL should be alot better and I'm not impressed with the size of our guys when comparing them with the likes of the big boys. Swasey will be gone. Yeah, the QB has a huge roll in making an OL look good or bad....but the short yardage difficulties are infuriating.....going on for too long.

This. Morris wouldn't know what pocket presence is or what the middle of the field is if you asked him

Some how, some way Golden needs to get this fixed! His defense looks like swiss cheese and his boy is making him look like terrible. At the beginning of the season I recall people saying we would have around 3-4 loses, but now that we have started to win and the expectations have gone up. The same needs to happen with Golden and his coaches. He needs to expect more from his supporting cast because everyone wants to knock you off. Not only because you are winning but because you are Miami. To get to that next level you cannot keep doing the same things wrong and with this team it must start with the defense.

The OL has NOT been fine! Can we dispense with this fantasy? This is the biggest and most experienced OL we have had in YEARS, with SEVERAL guys that will be playing on Sundays, and its been average at BEST. They allow a TON of penetration, cannot consistently open up holes in the running game, and are very inconsistent. Im sorry but this is CLASSIC Kehoe. A highly regarded OL with a bunch of talent, who should be steamrolling defenses, and end up looking average. Guy is simply not a very good coach. I think he's ADEQUATE with good talent, but that's it. Now, if Al doesnt want to create TOO much havoc by making too many changes at once, I agree he's not the first that needs to go, but the sooner Kehoe retires, the better this team will be IMO. There is WAY too much talent on our OL to not be among the elite and best OLs in the country. They should be mowing down Defensive lines and letting our backs run WILD. We barely had a running game last night. And I know we dont have Duke, but you shouldnt have to have one of the best backs in the country to have more than 50 yards rushing.
