Al Golden is a BOSS

That he did this for a kid that's been committed for a while now and also one that hasnt shown any signs of decommitting, makes this even more awesome.

Al Golden really is a great dude. You can say whatever you want about him as a coach (I think he will be a great coach for us), but he is a ****** good man.

Darrion Owens, on the other hand, is an bloodthirsty savage. He's an animalistic beast who really should be caged and muzzled during nighttime hours. That man has a thirst for blood that can only be quenched by destroying the running backs of opposing teams. I'm sure he wasn't at the hospital with his parents because he was busy running around Jacksonville on all fours, foaming at the mouth, raping and pillaging whole neighborhoods at a time.

That man is pure evil.

Unfortunately we have a case of nice guys finishing last. Al would make a great politician, and at some schools an excellent coach. Unfortunately for him and us he chose a school whose fan base expects more than 8 win seasons and raising kids of high moral character. We are becoming Virginia and Wake Forrest.

Good ****, Al.

And DOwens is the type of LB that will remind us of the old days. If Barrow and Dnofrio cant develop him and JYoung into MONSTERs by year 2, then somebody needs to be shown the door.

How silly.

Yes, it is silly. In fact it's ridiculous to say that because Al cares about the kids and treats them well he's not a good coach. None of that is contrary to a winning, championship program.

You all dont realize, but sh*t like this gets around. Owens has teammates and coaches in HS. Local papers and other recruits hear about this stuff. Future recruits and players hear about this stuff. It starts to get around that at the U, they dont just treat you like a piece of meat, that its a family that cares about eachother, that the HC isnt all about winning, he cares about his players and their families. Their well being. No, its not going to sway 90% of kids or their families, but when things are tight and its a coin toss on where a kid goes, hearing about an HC that will go visit your father in the hospital. The type of HC who will run out into the middle of the field and cradle one of his players while his ankle his twisted backwards and he's howling in agony. That could make some parents and kids say, "that's the kind of family I want to be a part of", "that's the kind of man I want looking after my baby for the next 4 years".

AG is a class act. I really hope we can fix this defense, because if we can, the sky is really the limit here. I really want this guy to succeed here.

Just need the results on the field. He has the vision and presence to be special. Every special coach needs good assistants though

Results on the field come after the organizational structure and process are repaired. Not before.

Lmao. He cant repair them in 3 years?

Might take 2 more years before we can reasonably expect to hold powerhouse offenses like UVA and Vag Tech under 500.

You have made it abundantly clear that you hate coach d and aren't a big fan if golden, any chance you can stop bringing it up in every thread.

I agree with you that the defense needs serious help and I am also not happy with the current scheme and coaching staff on d, but it doesn't need to be mentioned in every thread.

He chose a school where the fanbase is still living in the past and will continue to do so in spite of the fact the world has changed dramatically while said fanbase is still living in dreamland.

Lmao all you want. This is at minimum a 5 year rebuild and has been from the get go. You can go back to jerking off to 30 for 30 reruns.....some of us will be happy to live in 2014 with an understanding of where we've been for the last decade.

God forbid he would want to play for the Miami Hurricanes. Yeah...Lets just all do him a favor and tell him to go to AUB. That will help us get back into living in the present. Smh.
