I tend to agree. Golden actually played high school and college football. I think that's the difference. He actually played for Paterno. Manny was only a fan who idolized Jimmy Johnson.

It was 2013 Russell Athletic Bowl.

And I never said losing to FIU wasn't worse, it clearly is, I just posted that game to remind people...

Before yall romanticize Al Folden don't catch amnesia & forget how bad he was.

Al Folden was/is a sh*t Corch & his career post Miami has proved that.

And NO that's not an endorsement of Diaz, he's a God awful Corch too & will be fired come December 2020, that's not my point.. I'm just making sure people don't start trying to make Folden out to be some good coach just because Diaz is also terrible.

It seems logical when you figure in he was a hold over from the previous staff.
 
We need an Alpha at the helm, that penn disgrace moron was like jarren scared to throw the deep ball, that moron was scared to coach against similar competition, he was beat before the whistle blew!

I don't think too many folks need to relearn that lesson. lol.

As for me, flying across the country to sit in a driving rain storm for the 2013 Va Tech game only to watch the defense back peddle all the though the back of the end zone allowing Va Tech to score whenever they wanted is not a memory that will soon fade.
 
I can’t believe posters are fluffing Golden up. Dude was more stubborn than Richt, and the buddy system was worse (No D). He should never set foot in Miami again. But, hopefully he can have a hand in taking Blake James down.

Team went 3-12-1. Head coach has perhaps one more offseason before benefit of a doubt is gone. Naturally there will be changes all over the staff. No different with the Bears after a disappointing season. Often it's not the caliber of coach so much as desperation to try something different while also appeasing fans.

Stafford was having his best season until the injury -- 8.6 YPA and 9.1 Adjusted YPA. Prior to this season Stafford had nothing above 7.9 YPA and nothing above 8.1 Adjusted YPA.

Golden got fired because Stafford got injured. That's basically how it played out.

Golden was trash. He didnt lose to FIU but there was some extreme blowouts during his tenure. His recruiting was awful. For 1 good player he recruited, there were 3 that should have never been at Miami.

Also when he took over at the beginning of spring ball the whole Shapiro **** show started, what if he had bailed who the fook would of come here to coach?????

Nobody’s pumping up Golden. We’re just saying he’s better than Manny.

One thing I do get tired of is how people are pumping up Richt just 12 months after his mercifully resigned. People actually do act like Richt was good here.
