Well, this thread has gone the way of Amtrak outside of Philly.

This is an Al Golden team. It's full of head nodders and we guys who don't spend their day staring at the clock.

Like ibiswingz so artfully stated, we lost talent for sure, but talent pulling in the opposite direction kills teams. Bunch of dudes with briefcases in that locker room last year. This year, the briefcases are gone and have been replaced with lunch pails and hard hats.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we shocked the world and made it to the playoff this year.

You two are meant for each other. These locker room cancers that Golden mentions happens to be the players that he recruited. We'll be hearing the same things about McCord, Howard, Bush, etc.. this time next year when we post another 6-7 win season and that the 2017 class will save UM.

You forgot the part where he blames the fan for the 2016 class falling apart because he doesn't get fired. If there was cancer in the locker room, Al was the center of it. He started throwing players under the bus in year 2 to defend Mark after the KSU game. Back in Nam, leaders like Al got a special goodbye gift in their huts. That is who he reminds me of, fresh in country for a whole 3 days with a thick book full of self-glorified answers. It shames me to have ever supported him. I wouldn't follow him in to strip club if he was tossing C notes into the air.

Your post highlights one of the differences between you and me, friend. I wouldn't follow any man into a strip club out of respect for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and my wife, Ethel. Perhaps you should go to your local pastor and discuss your troubles with him. Many a good man like yourself has lost his way on this journey called life, and found redemption when embracing Jesus Christ.

Very nice. I'm Catholic. We confess sins and beg forgiveness(frequently in my case), not discuss. Redemption comes by picking up your cross and following Our Lord to Calvary, stripes, falls, thorns, nails and all, not from a touching embrace. Oh, if it were so easy. But is good to know you are in the right mindset. Is you wife really named Ethel? I figured you younger, unless it is Biblical for religious reasons.

This lost soul seems full of hate and depravity with his talk of ambushing Coach Golden in a seedy hut and the filth of strip clubs.

Psssst my friend! Let me let you in on just a little secret. Coaches aren't measured by interviews. You too cannot make excuses like splitting atoms in locker room. It's the 6-7, below .500, zip in bowl games, never against a top 20 teams and O for against FSU etc. You know tangible things that can actually be measured. FYI, that's why they keep score. If the other teams score more than you you lose! Intangible things like supposed locker room divisions only further indicate a coaches inabilities as a well rounded coach. They are not valid excuses for not achieving the tangible things like won vs loss record.

Coach put the players in the position to make plays and win games. It's not his fault if players fumble and drop the ball and miss tackles. We would have had at least 5 more wins last year if the players did their jobs.

Fielding 11 players at all positions on Saturdays doesn't mean the coach or scheme put them in the right position! Got too many examples that that was not the case (see et al). If the players you recruit fumble, can't catch or miss tackles, guess who jobs it is to assure your team can do all those things? Still don't get it? The freaking coach SON! Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda coaches go 6-7! Stop making Excuses for Al! Excuses are tools of incompetence that are used by those unable to achieve even moderate success let alone greatness. Your non measurable intangible "statements" pale if the face of facts! 6-7! A recruiting class that crashed insight of the runway! SON a few decent freshmen ain't gonna save the season when we got the same "crash pilot"! We haven't played 2015 and you already touting 2016. There's an old phrase, "don't count your chickens before they hatch".

A special goodbye would be stoning Al's 1978 Mercury sideboard paneling station wagon with his belongings strapped on top as he tries to get out of town after being fired.

true statement. those kids are staying around because they think he is getting fired. i have said this numerous times. half of them think because of social media they will be playing for Butch

[MENTION=6710]nycane[/MENTION]: very true...The U part 2 hurt Golden even more so b/c we tanked at the end of the season and in the bowl game after the airing. It completely highlighted how dominant Butch Davis teams were while he was here and after he left. Once the Davis' kids dried up and went away to the NFL, old happy was exposed as a fraud of a coach...kids have hope for Butch and Butch has been frequenting So. Beach more and more lately.

my friend has a coached one of the top recruits in the country who has offers from everyone. i asked "is miami still in it?" his coach said "Yup. because he thinks he will be playing for butch davis if he goes there. just waiting to see who the new coach is. alot of kids would go there if they fired golden"

Also, had another major player in south florida football tell me paul williams actually goes around bashing recruits.
